There is no wonder as to why Panchakarma Ayurvedic treatments have been known to be the ultimate healing experience of all times. Before undergoing any major treatment, Ayurveda highly recommends to detoxify one’s body and relieve the body systems from the accumulated toxic matter. This is because, not only this ama or the toxic matter interfere with the general health of an individual, yet this also hinders the efficacy of the natural therapies and herbal medicines that are being recommended. Even otherwise, it is needed that anyone and everyone should undergo the elegant cleansing process of Panchakarma every few years (preferably once or twice in a year), as these Ayurvedic treatments largely remove almost all the impurities that our body tends to accumulate over a period of time, and we can maintain our health and wellbeing.

What are Panchakarma Ayurvedic Treatments?

Panchakarma is an ancient Ayurvedic treatment, meant for complete cleansing and rejuvenation of our system. Developed thousands of years ago in India, it is essentially a set of five different therapeutic treatments put together, which is used for the detoxification and purification of our body as well as mind. These are Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya and Raktamokshana.
Why Panchakarma is Needed?

Toxic agents are everywhere in our environment. Be it the food we eat or the air we breathe. Owing to the kind of lifestyles we lead and the negative build up of the same results in degeneration of the body slowly. Stress hormones, emotional disturbances, anxiety and negative emotions are all toxic carriers. There are natural processes like crying, sweating, urination and defecation by which we flush out toxic overload. Having said that, the excess of chemicals in our foods and surroundings along with growing levels of stress in our society leads to our body being engulfed with destructive components. This calls for expulsion of unnecessary waste material from our system and here steps in Panchakarma Ayurvedic treatments which are the ultimate solution for thorough detoxification.
Why Ayurveda Counsels Panchakarma?

Going by what Ayurveda has to say, our health depends largely on our ability to absorb what is required for nourishment, while eliminating anything that is not. This includes not just the food that we eat, but also the various experiences and emotions that we come across and deal with in our day-to-day lives. If there happens to be any kind of imbalance, toxins get accumulated in our body, which eventually result in the various kinds of diseases that we could be experiencing. Ayurvedic Panchakarma is the ultimate cleansing ritual which eliminates ‘ama’ or waste from the body. Panchakarma is a stream of ancient science that helps in healing both the body and mind. It is highly personalized and is based on the needs of the individual depending on the Prakriti and Vikruti or the body type and the kind of dosha imbalances.
