Sheryl Lister has enjoyed reading and writing for as long as she can remember. She writes contemporary and inspirational romance and romantic suspense. She been nominated for an Emma Award, RT Reviewer’s Choice Award and named BRAB’s 2015 Best New Author. When she’s not reading, writing or playing chauffeur, Sheryl can be found on a date with her husband or in the kitchen creating appetizers and bite-sized desserts. Sheryl resides in California and is a wife, mother of three daughters and a son-in-love, and grandmother to two very special little boys.

MONIQUE LAMONT

Before there was an Yvette Hines, there was Monique Lamont. A writer of sensual romance books. Books filled with great storylines, love and passion. Where the couples are married before they start blazin’ up the sheets. These stories are heavy on the sensual side and there are no closed doors, however, no erotic language or terminology used. No flowery or purple prose either. So, for my readers that enjoy a hot contemporary read, but without all those words that make up blush…Monique Lamont stories are for you. For my Yvette Hines readers, try them…trust me, you will not be disappointed.

DEATRI KING-BEY

Deatri King-Bey began in the publishing industry in 2001 as an editor for Third World Press Inc., the oldest African-American owned publishing company in the country. Deatri is also a women’s fiction and romance author. In 2008, her title Whisper Something Sweet won the Emma Award for Best Steamy Romance of the Year. Deatri also writes dangerously sexy suspense with Curtis L. Alcutt under the pseudonym L. L. Reaper. Deatri is currently the Chair of the Romance Slam Jam Organization, the place for readers and authors of Black romance to meet, is writing, editing, conducting workshops and whatever else she can get into.

A.C. ARTHUR

A.C. Arthur was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland where she currently resides with her husband and three children. An active imagination and a love for reading encouraged her to begin writing in high school and she hasn’t stopped since.

Working in the legal field she’s seen lots of horrific things and longs for the safe haven reading a romance novel brings. Her debut novel Object of His Desire was written when a picture of an Italian villa sparked the idea of an African-American/Italian hero. Determined to bring a new edge to romance, she continues to develop intriguing plots, sensual love scenes, racy characters and fresh dialogue–thus keeping the readers on their toes!

SHELIA GOSS

Shelia M. Goss is a national best-selling author and a 2012 Emma Award Finalist. She has over thirteen books in print and over seven books as ebooks. She writes in multiple genres: Christian fiction, romance, women’s fiction, suspense, and young adult. USA Today says, “Goss has an easy, flowing style with her prose…”

Besides writing fiction, Shelia is a freelance writer. She’s also an Essence Magazine best selling author, the recipient of three Shades of Romance Magazine Readers Choice Multi-Cultural Awards and honored as a Literary Diva: The Top 100 Most Admired African American Women in Literature.

KIANNA ALEXANDER

Like any good Southern belle, Kianna Alexander wears many hats: loving wife, doting mama, advice-dispensing sister, and gabbing girlfriend. She’s a voracious reader, an amateur seamstress and occasional painter in oils. Chocolate, American history, sweet tea and Idris Elba are a few of her favorite things. A native of the TarHeel state, Kianna still lives there with her husband, two kids, and a collection of well-loved vintage 80’s Barbie dolls.

WAYNE JORDAN

I’m a high school teacher and live on the island of Barbados. I’m a romance writer and currently write for Harlequin Kimani Arabesque and Romance.

CHERIS HODGES

Cheris Hodges is the author of nine novels, eight of them African-American romance novels. She was bitten by the writing bug at an early age and always knew she wanted to be a writer, beginning her career as a romance novelist with the release of Revelations published by Genesis Press in 2003. She is a 1999 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University and a native of Bennettsville, South Carolina.

AJA

Aja is the writer of sensually erotic women’s fiction. Her stories allow readers to experience realistic, inspiring and soulful interactions between her characters and intense passion between couples overcoming life’s challenges.

Raised as an only child, using her imagination to create stories came naturally to her. Writing her first book in the first grade encouraged her doting and supportive mother to enter her into writing contests to help her hone her craft. Inspired by soulful music and sensual art, she crafts her stories on a whim, using the snatches of time her characters grace her with and stringing them together for completion. She loves prose but has been known to be poetic which can be found, if looking, in some of her published work.

DENISE JEFFRIES

Best Selling author Denise Jeffries has been writing since 1993. Having journaled life events since she was a child, on the prompting of a friend she decided to put those thoughts and dreams into books. She has sixteen published books and numerous short stories to her fiction writing credits plus numerous nonfiction articles and essays.

She is known for bringing the characters alive in her stories while adding a touch of wit, mystery and suspense. Her books aren’t called a wild ride of romance and intrigue for nothing. She loves traveling, reading and killing off people in her books and she kills each one with flare and pizzazz. She once said on a local television show that she killed people for a hobby and then went on to say moments later she worked in a local hospital. Her family, friends and co-workers still laugh at that slip of the tongue. She is an avid reader of all genres, however, proclaims romantic suspense is her all time favorite. She loves to travel, hike and photo shoot. She hopes to eventually put some of her photos to book covers.

BARBARA KEATON

A Chicago native, Barbara Keaton loves the city and says she cannot imagine living anywhere else. Educated in Catholic schools up until 12th grade, Barbara credits the Oblate Sisters of Providence, the oldest order of black nuns, and her late maternal grandfather, Thomas Hill for her love and respect for the written word.

Barbara’s first romance novel, All I Ask, was published in 2000. Since then she’s gone on to write eleven total romance novels which celebrate black love. In addition to her books, she’s also written several articles and editorials that have appeared in various publications: Today’s Black Woman Magazine; The Chicago Crusader; The Chicago Defender; The Chicago Reader; Bronze Thrills; True Confessions; and, Affaire de Coeur.
