hmv is Hong Kong’s premier music and dining destination with its 38,000 sq. ft. flagship store in Causeway Bay. Not only being the place for diners to discover their favourite music and movies, but it is also where they can take in live entertainment and lip-smacking dishes, showcasing an amazing lineup of live musical performances and savoury nibbles in an enthusiastic and eclectic ambience with its “Live, Play, Eat” philosophy.

 

Opened in December 2015, hmv Bar & Restaurant creates a relaxed vibe, the interior adorned with rustic brick walls, a lavish open bar and banquette seating as well as casual table settings. Seating 230 guests, music lovers can gather and enjoy captivating and upbeat tunes coupled with the new a la carte menu that will tempt taste buds with a variety of classic bar bites and all-day breakfast staples, as well as exclusive superhero drinks.



Chef Macy Lai, Executive Chef of hmv Bar & Restaurant, brings her extensive international culinary experience to hmv Bar & Restaurant. Macy previously apprenticed in Italy, and has many years of experience working in renowned restaurants in Hong Kong, including DiVino Wine Bar & Restaurant, Jamie’s Italian, Shelter as well as three-Michelin starred Bo Innovation’s restaurant MIC Kitchen as Head Chef.

This summer, she has added all-day breakfast items to get diners starting off on the right foot – at any time of day. The menu is headlined by delectable choices such as Breakfast Pizza with Free Range Eggs, Fresh Spinach, Bacon and Hash Brown and Cherry Tomatoes (HK$138), Homemade Chicken Broth Macaroni Pasta with Shiitake Mushrooms (HK$78), and Eggs Benedict with Hash Brown with either Healthy Sauteed Spinach (HK$88) or Savoury Smoked Salmon (HK$108).

Just in time for the dog days of summer, the menu includes the refreshing Lemongrass Shrimp, Pomelo & Mango Mesclun Salad with Toasted Peanut (HK$98), and appetising Organic Chicken Cobb, with Avocado, Bacon, Hard Boiled Free Range Egg, and Sun Dried Tomato & Greek Olive (HK$108). For the health-conscious, Kale Leaves & Fennel, Avocado and Orange Tossed in Sesame Dressing (HK$78) is a delicious option.

Other signature items at hmv Bar & Restaurant to remain on the menu include the satisfying hmv Wagyu Beef Burger (HK$158) that is proven very popular. It features a juicy and well-seasoned patty made from Australian wagyu, mature cheddar, Roma tomato, smoked UK black treacle bacon, homemade jalapeno pepper mayo made using Japanese eggs, and Italian black truffles in a decadently buttery brioche bun, served with thick cut fries and homemade truffle mayo.

Every Monday and Tuesday from 8-30 August, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., diners can enjoy the signature burger at the amazing price of HK$1 with no minimum charge and service charge. The promotion is limited to one burger per person, with 50 burgers served per session, and no reservations are accepted during this promotional period.

Other favourites on the menu include the Slow Cooked Canadian Pork Loin Sandwich with Red Cabbage Compote & Mustard (HK$128), and Grilled Bacon & Brie Cheese Sandwich (HK$68), while crowd-pleasing pastas include Classic Roman–Style Carbonara Spaghetti (HK$148), Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle (HK$138), and Grandma’s Style Bolognese Spaghetti (HK$148).

To coincide with the exciting DVD release of “BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE” in Hong Kong, hmv Bar & Restaurant is marking the occasion with two exclusive superhero-themed drinks (HK$68) available from now to 19 September 2016. Bat Black, is a concoction of blackcurrant syrup, blue curacao syrup, lemon juice, and cranberry juice, while Super Blue, is a refreshing drink with strawberry syrup and puree, fresh lemon juice, blue curacao syrup, a dash of lychee syrup, orange juice and soda water.

Guests can now enjoy 20% off these superhero drinks if they present their hmv “BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE” Blu-ray DVD receipt.

To beat the summer heat, hmv Bar & Restaurant also presents a new collection of “Kice” – Korean shaved ice desserts in various flavoured concoctions. To ensure an authentic Kice experience, hmv Bar & Restaurant imported shaved ice machines from Korea, and invited a team of Korean experts to come to Hong Kong to provide professional training to hmv’s young and dynamic team in order to perfectly execute these delectable shaved ice creations.

The enticing flavours include Green Tea Snowflakes (green tea and tofu), Mango Snowflakes (fresh mango with aloe and dried apricots), Chocolate Snowflakes (Oreo bites and brownie), Milk Snowflakes (red bean and Korean rice cake) and Tofu Snowflakes (red bean and tofu), all priced from HK$35 each.

At hmv Bar & restaurant, guests can sit back and enjoy a medley of local talent as musicians perform original music at hmv LIVE, with live jazz performance on Wednesdays (Jazz Night) and acoustic pop music on Saturdays (Saturday Night), from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The schedule of August is listed below while more live performances in the following months featuring a range of bands, DJs and other performers will soon be unveiled.
