Odyssey Aerospace Components (OAC) is a privately held company established to provide turn-key VIP interiors and components for business jet aircraft. Odyssey was acquired by Greenpoint Technologies in 2011.
Founded in 2008, Odyssey manufactures custom cabinetry interiors for original equipment manufacturers (OEM), completion centers, private clients and corporations. Listening to customers and focusing on their requirements is the method in which Odyssey tailors their interiors to meet their goals.
The manufacturing and machining facilities are in Denton, Texas, core of the VIP interiors industry, and employ talented technicians and cabinetry artisans. The facilities are minutes away from the Denton Municipal Airport and 30 miles from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
Odyssey Aerospace Components has an immediate need for a Mechanical Design Engineer to create basic design of aircraft interiors, structures and/or systems to meet customer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements, budget and project schedules using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools.
This position is located in Denton, TX and is a direct position for the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Designs basic mechanical aircraft interior furnishing, structures, and/or systems.
Provides liaison engineering support.
Ensures designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements.
Adheres to budget and project schedules.
Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong Computer Aided Drafting/Design skills using Solidworks, AutoCAD, and or Inventor.
Three dimensional (3D) design/drafting skills are preferred.
Aviation background and aircraft interior experience preferred.
Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards.
Experience with mechanical assemblies and manufacturing technique design.
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Experience adhering to budget and project schedules.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
Ability to travel as required.
Ability to work overtime as required.
