The folks over at MaxBlogPress were kind enough to give me a review copy of their latest plugin – Bring My Blog Visitors Back.  Join me as I go through the plugin, what it does, what it is for, and whether you should invest your hard earned cash for it!

Bring My Blog Visitors Back

Are you tired of people visiting your site – blindly subscribing to your RSS feed never to return? Or even worse you find out your RSS feed is being used to add content to other websites without your knowledge?

Well.. now you can get them all back!

And just like the plugins name it is setup to do exactly that. It will (try anyways – there is no hypnosis involved!) bring those visitors who signed up for your RSS feed and just peruse it instead of actually going back to your site to visit.

Plus it can turn those sites stealing your content into your new best friend! Since you can now easily add your brand, header, footer, comments, and share buttons on your RSS feed!

But Is It Easy To Setup?

I know if you’ve read my Thesis install Tutorials how much of a pain it is to get that updated. This is nowhere near as tough. It was basically a three step process to get you started!

Download the zip to your computer.

Go to your WordPress admin page -> Plugins -> Add New Plugins

Upload and Activate!

*Poof* Your ready to turn your RSS feed into a magnet to get your visitors back!

OK Sure – But Now What?

Well you will want to tweak some of the settings of course! I can tell you now though that it was pretty much setup right out of the box. I only added a custom header and footer and left it alone from there.

But you can easily change or adjust the settings inside of the BMBVB Settings Window inside of WordPress.

Setting Options

Tags You Can Use – Simple shortcode tags you are allowed to use within the plugin

Display Related Posts on Your RSS Feed – Enable/Adjust how many RP display on your Feed

Display Social Media Icons on Your RSS Feed – You can check/un-check from the four different ones (Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and StumbleUpon)  and selec the size. Hmm… will need to ask them to add more in future updates!

Display Latest User Comments on Your RSS Feed – Will display the last comment posted on the article. This can peak a potential visitors interest into joining into the conversation!

Display Custom Header Content on Your RSS Feed – This is where you can add a header (or not) – the ideas are almost limitless – ads, your sites logo, announcements, marketing of latest products etc..

Display Custom Footer Content on Your RSS Feed – You can enable/disable this feature. Same rules apply as the Header (read above).

And it has some additional settings such as the affiliate window and the ability to turn off the “Powered by MaxBlogPress” message and setup your affiliate info.

Take a look a the custom header and how the footer section of my RSS feed looks now

Header

I went with a simple smaller site logo and some (cheesy) text to test it out with.

New RSS Header!

Footer

New RSS Footer

I chose to stick with the default copyright info for now. You’ll also see the Recent Posts, Social Media share buttons, and how many Comments the article has (hey… I had JUST posted it!).

Note: If you are using any type of cache plugin for your site and you make changes/update this plugin? Make sure to clear the cache otherwise your changes might not display properly.

OK I’m Sold – Where Do I Get It?

You can visit the direct link by clicking here. If you hurry and get it during its initial release you can save 30% off the initial price for an unlimited license!

Final Thoughts

I can tell you that I don’t use many premium WordPress plugins. But this one I will continue to use and I absolutely love it!  With this plugin I can have it do all the work for me and it is one less thing I need to worry about!

Let me know if you are running this on your blog and what you think of it in the comments below!
