TWIG – This Week in Gaming brings us some good news, and some bad news. Find out about Call of Duty: Ghosts announcement of Dedicated Servers, Battlefield IV’s Single Player Campaign, Titanfall’s release date and Collector’s Edition, game delays,  as well as other news from around the web. Oh yea – Amazon has some PlayStation 4′s in stock. Look inside for all this news and more in this weeks TWIG!

Call of Duty: Ghost Gets Dedicated Servers – For all Platforms

Mark Rubin from Infinity Ward tweeted an update that should make all Call of Duty players happy. No more P2P. It is now going to be a hybrid system of Dedicated Servers. Unfortunately this does NOT mean that you will be seeing cross platform lobbies. You’ll only be playing with other players on whatever console/PC your playing on.

Below is the original Tweet along with the extended Tweet in blockquotes:

GHOSTS ONLINE CONNECTIVITY UPDATE: I wanted to give a quick update on some of the work that has been done to improve everyone’s online experience. We’ve already mentioned dedicated servers as part of the overall plan to improve connectivity. Dedicated servers will be used on current gen, next gen and PC with Ghosts. And, in order to make sure that people have the best possible experience regardless of platform, location or connection, Ghosts will be using a hybrid system of dedicated servers and listen servers. So no matter where you are the game will always be trying to give you the best online performance possible. There is also some great new tech in the matchmaking system that will place players in matches that have the best combined overall connectivity performance. Again these are just some of the things that are going into Call of Duty: Ghosts to give players a great online experience. Can’t wait to see you all online.

And for you PC Players he hinted at a “New Anti-Cheat System” that he couldn’t go into details … for obvious reasons :)

Note: I tried getting some info from Activision’s Community Manager Dan “One of Swords”. Unfortunately he didn’t have any concrete information on how the system works yet either. Maybe he will create a post on his blog? (hint hint)

And with it only being  a few weeks away? Of course the advertising blitz has begun in earnest. Take a look at their launch trailer below:

Battlefield 4 – Are You Ready?

Battlefield 4 is right around the corner!  The more I see about the game the more I am liking it! Especially since it will have an actual single-player campaign as well as an awesome Multi Player. Although I am a die hard Call of Duty Fan? This game is going to be awesome and it should make the folks over at Activision/Infinity Ward sweat a bit lol. Take a look at the Official Single Player Campaign trailer below:

TitanFall to Be Released March 2014!

This is the shooter I’ve been waiting for. With the original creators of the Call of Duty franchise, coupled with a mix of on ground and Mech FPS action? I can’t tell you how excited I am for this game! Unfortunately it is only available for Xbox or PC. If you haven’t seen the trailer for this game yet? Take a look below and get excited about it!

Collectors Edition

Now if you have a few hundred bucks in your pocket and act quick? You can get the Collectors Edition directly from the Titanfall Webpage. You will get a 190 page hardbound book of the artwork, a schematic poster of a Titan, the game of course, and an awesome LED lighted 18″ Diorama of a Titan and its Pilot  in all of its glorious detail!  You can click on the big picture above to take you directly to the page to pre-order.

Other Gaming News From Around the Web

Gamestop Black Friday Ad Leaked – If your wondering where the deals are going to be for this years Black Friday. Well look no further for Gamestop’s. Someone managed to snag and scan a copy of it. Though I’m sure some of it will be changed now that Watch Dogs and Car Club have been delayed!

Watch Dogs Delayed – According to Ubi Soft they aren’t planning to release it until early 2014. I commend them though. I’d rather have it delayed and done right then have something half baked. Unfortunately this means if you pre-ordered your PS4 with the Day One version of the game? Your SOL now :-(

DriveClub Delayed Too? – Wow this is a bummer. That’s two titles now the PlayStation 4 will be down.  Although this means they will get to spend the time to refine even more? It is still disappointing that it won’t be available for the PlayStation 4 launch.

Crytek Releases Warface – Haven’t heard about this game? Neither have I until a few minutes ago. Crytek the folks who bring you the Crysis series have given us all a free online game you can play – inside of your web browser – FOR FREE. Check it out and let me know what you think down in the comments.

PlayStation 4 is Back in Stock - Um TODAY – If you still wanted to get one of these? You need to jump on this like.. NOW!

Kotaku – Cartoons Inside Video Games – Although I do love what RockStar has done with GTA V and their insane TV Shows. Apparently they have been one-upped by the creators of Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. Check out the link and see all of the animation you can find inside the game’s Televisions.

Please Make Sure to Share!

I really like putting these together. I scour the web to give you to gaming news that I hope you find helpful (and not just a bunch of Amazon affiliate links lol). Let me know what you think about the news this week in the comments below!
