LuK has produced a new guide on troubleshooting clutch system failures and malfunctions on agricultural vehicles. The company – part of the Schaeffler Group – is a leading clutch manufacturer for tractors, supplying many of the world’s leading tractor companies, including John Deere, AGCO, Case and Claas. The guide contains tips on diagnosing a variety of clutch failures, from clutch drag and slip to clutch judder and noise and also features details of clutch designs and operation diagrams. The Schaeffler Group’s aftermarket tractor headquarters is based at Hereford in England from where all clutch parts are warehoused, packed and supplied to other Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket locations and customers around the globe. The company also has a major manufacturing plant in Sheffield which produces clutches and torsional vibration dampers for both passenger cars and tractors. On the tractor side, the factory produced 726,000 clutch pieces in 2012, valued at £36 million, comprising 499,000 discs, 78,000 single and 149,000 double clutch pieces.
