Goodyear offers “sneak preview” of new waste haul tire at the Waste Expo in Las Vegas.
Goodyear has launched its longest-wearing waste haul tire, the Endurance WHA. The company believes this will become the “go-to” tire for waste haul fleets across North America.
“Goodyear wants to help waste haul fleets lower their operating costs, and the new Endurance WHA will do just that by offering more miles to removal and other important benefits,” says Andrea Russell, brand manager, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems.
The combination of a new, scrub-resistant compound and a deep, 24/32-inch tread depth will help the Goodyear Endurance WHA deliver more miles to removal.
Optional with the Goodyear Endurance WHA is Goodyear’s DuraSeal Technology, which is built into the tire during the manufacturing process and instantly seals nail-hole punctures of up to ¼-inch in diameter in the repairable area of a truck tire’s tread.
“Goodyear is the only tire company that offers a built-in tire sealant, which is of tremendous benefit to waste haul trucks that roll across debris-strewn surfaces at dumps and waste transfer stations,” said Russell. “Goodyear DuraSeal Technology helps preserve valuable truck uptime and is another component of Goodyear’s Total Solution for waste haul.”
Available during the fourth quarter of 2015 in size 315/80R22.5, Load Range L, the Goodyear Endurance WHA also features:
– New sidewall protector shingles to help resist sidewall scuffing in high-scrub applications, which will help enhance casing life
– A steel belt and casing package for enhanced toughness, endurance and retreadability
– An optimized shoulder design to help direct pressure away from the tire’s outer tread, which promotes uniform tread wear
– Four wide circumferential grooves for all-season traction on wet, snow-covered and dry roads in stop/start waste haul truck applications
– A wide footprint to enhance cornering and handling when used on local streets
“We also realize that waste haul fleets are heavy users of retreads that optimize their tire investment,” said Russell. “This is why we also will launch a matching Endurance WHA retread.”
