1.) Tata Bolt: The long awaited Tata Bolt hatchback is set to be launched on January 22. With the Bolt, Tata will try to establish a firm place in the segment, something that its predecessors struggled to achieve. This time round though, Tata has not just improved the quality but has also loaded it with segment-first features like projector headlamps and satellite navigation. The Bolt will be launched in both petrol and diesel engine options. It will sport the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel mill from the Zest. We expect the Bolt to be introduced at a starting price of Rs 4.20 lakh.
2.) Datsun Go+: Following the launch of the Go last year, Datsun will now introduce another model in their product portfolio, and this one is a segment-starter. Like the name rightly suggests, the Datsun Go+ will offer a little more than its hatchback sibling. That said, it will not compete against any of the MPVs sold in the market currently in terms of space, performance as well as price. The 1.2-litre petrol unit from the Go has been remapped to produce a more linear power delivery for the Go+. The Go+ will not come equipped with too many features. In fact even the top-of-the-line model won't even come with optional Airbags, ABS and alloy wheels. Prices of the Datsun Go+ are expected to start at Rs 3.60 lakh.
3.) Hyundai Verna facelift: Spy shots of the facelifted Verna has been making its rounds on the internet for a while and now Hyundai is all set to introduce the refreshed version of its C-segment sedan. Similar to the Solaris launched in Russia not too long ago, the facelifted Verna will sport a twin-slat grille and a redesigned bumper. The updated Verna will also sport new fog lights with Daytime Running Lamps and LED inserts to the tail-lamp cluster. Changes to the insides will be minimal. Under the hood, the facelifted Verna will continue to be offered in both 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The refreshed Verna will be priced marginally higher than the current model.
4.) Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class: With Audi already here with the A3, Mercedes-Benz will introduce their iteration of a compact luxury sedan in the CLA-Class on January 22. The Stuttgart-based car maker introduced the performance-oriented version of this sedan, the CLA45 AMG last year. The CLA-Class shares its underpinnings with the sporty A-Class hatchback and the larger B-Class. The CLA-Class will be launched with a petrol as well as diesel heart. The petrol CLA-Class will be powered by a 2.0-litre unit that pumps 183.5PS of peak power and 300Nm of torque, while its diesel counterpart will be a 2.2-litre oil-burner with a maximum output of 136PS and 300Nm. The CLA-Class will be priced marginally cheaper than the GLA-Class.
5.) Abarth 595 Competizione: Subsequent to the launch of the Linea, Punto Evo and the Avventura, Fiat has now shifted its focus to something that packs performance, the Abarth 595 Competizione. Subsidiary of Fiat, the Abarth 595 Competizione sports a 1.4-litre turbocharged unit that pumps 160PS of power and 201Nm of torque. Fiat will bring in the 595 Competizione as a Completely Built Unit and will be priced in the range of Rs 25-30 lakh. The Abarth 595 Competizione will go against the likes of the recently launched three and five-door Mini Coopers.
