Drive Traffic to Your Website
Video Transcript
Hi and welcome to another Tuesday Tip Video Clip. So you’ve got a flashy new website with all the bells and whistles but you’re not sure how to get people to it. It’s okay. I’m here to help. Your website offers a unique 24 seven solution to the old brick-and-mortor storefront. Customers can access your inventory at your virtual location at any time and from anywhere so it’s not only important to have a good website, but to have all of your information easy to access. Here are a few of my suggestions for driving traffic to your site.
My first suggestion is to advertise. Now it seems like a simple solution to a complicated problem but advertising could be the best way to drive traffic to your website. Whether your customers prefer print, radio, tv or digital advertising, it’s your job to know where they are looking for your business the most. You should also consider paid search, social media advertising, in addition to display advertising like television or billboards. Make sure your website is included on all the advertising you utilize.
My second suggestion is to use the keywords that your customer is using, not just industry keywords. It’s likely that your customer is using a different term for your product than what you market it as. For example, far more people search for the term “used cars” than “pre-owned vehicles”. Make sure that the content on your website matches these terms that the searcher uses. Sure the term “poor credit assistance” sounds nice, but likely those who need it are looking for “bad credit loans”. Keywords are very important to ranking in organic search so utilize the right keywords whenever you can. Once you are in contact with the customer, then you can use the nicer language to make them feel better about their situation. Though you may not want to be known as a “cheap car dealer” with a large inventory under $3000, your customer wants just that.
My third suggestion is to utilize social media remarketing. Did you know that you can set up remarketing audiences in Facebook or Twitter? That’s right. You can actually install a tracking pixel to your site so you can continue to market to those who have visited well after they leave. This is an awesome way to create return traffic to your website.
My final suggestion is to build an email list. Each time someone uses your service or purchases something from you, ask for their email. Not only can you use this for social media marketing, but you can send them a newsletter designed to drive traffic to your site. Be sure to include a way to “sign-up” for your newsletter on your website. Utilizing a newsletter can not only update your customers with your new inventory, but you can also deciminate any news, specials or any other content directly to their inbox. Remember, there’s now a large majority of consumers that can access their email via smartphone. This puts your business directly in the palm of their hands.
Now there are many more ways to drive traffic to your website, but I found that these are the quickest to initiate and seem to drive more immediate results. Our blog is actually full of ideas to help you bring customers to your site but if you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the comment section below
