Driving electrically with car2go vehicles is very popular in Stuttgart. More than 12,500 customers registered for the service in the first 100-or-so days after car2go was introduced to the city. The all-electric fleet has now been increased to 400 vehicles ahead of schedule. “car2go was an almost instant hit in Stuttgart,” says Robert Henrich, Managing Director of Daimler Mobility Services GmbH. “In the birthplace of the automobile, car2go is becoming an important part of an increasing number of people’s daily mobility.” More than 12,500 users have registered for the service to date Cars clock up over 350,000 kilometers car2go operates 300 electric vehicles in Stuttgart, making the fleet Germany’s largest fleet of electric vehicles. To date, the smart brand vehicles have clocked up a combined total of more than 350,000 kilometers in the city. Due to the great demand, car2go has expanded the Stuttgart fleet earlier than planned. It has added 100 vehicles to the fleet so that the user community will now be able to rent a total of 400 smart fortwo electric drive cars on the spur of the moment. car2go – a global pioneer car2go is continuing to grow rapidly as a pioneering market leader for flexible carsharing services. car2go now operates more than 7,000 vehicles (including approximately 1,000 all-electric cars) in 18 cities. Customers are enthusiastic about the mobility concept, and more than 300,000 users have registered for the service to date. The six German locations alone account for over 130,000 customers. A car2go vehicle is rented every three seconds on average in one of the 18 cities in which the service is offered.
