On 22 November  at the 2012 10th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition, the British luxury sports car brand Aston Martin marked the debut of the new Vanquish in China. Visitors to the Aston Martin stand located at No.81 stadium, will be able to see a stunning line-up of models showcasing the legendary marque’s Power, Beauty and Soul: the new Vanquish with its perfect poise and technical sophistication, together with the luxurious four-door Rapide, the sporty V8 Vantage and the elegant Virage. During the Guangzhou Auto Show, Aston Martin officially announced the launch in China of its new ultimate GT sports car Vanquish, which is the best-ever sports car in Aston Martin’s 100-year history, setting new standards for super GT sports cars. The new Vanquish is available to order in the Chinese market at the recommended retail price of 5,268,800 RMB. The new Vanquish is designed and hand-built at Aston Martin’s global headquarters at Gaydon in Warwickshire, UK. This ultimate sports car is inspired by Aston Martin’s limited edition One-77 super car. Performance, presence, style and great British craftsmanship – the new Vanquish has all these traits in abundance representing the Power, Beauty and Soul of Aston Martin. Sitting proudly at the pinnacle of the luxury British car maker’s sports car line-up, this breathtaking new super grand tourer represents the zenith of current Aston Martin design and engineering. Vanquish points to an exciting and confident future for the historic brand. Aston Martin’s CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez commented: “In Aston Martin’s hundred years, the marque has gained a unique reputation around the world due to its exquisite craftsmanship, engineering and excellent design. The unveiling of the new Vanquish is a great start to the next century for Aston Martin. Vanquish is the ultimate expression of Aston Martin’s design ethos, engineering innovation and technical ability. It offers luxurious, continent-crossing capability and pure driving excitement without compromise.” As to the design of new Vanquish, Marek Reichman, the Director of Design for Aston Martin, commented:” The new Vanquish boasts design language derived from the One-77 such as the elegant and flowing waistline, elongated side strakes, curvaceous, taut form and LED light blade rear clusters, as well as entirely new design ideas such as the remarkable rear Aero Duct. The new Vanquish sets the visual standard for today’s luxury sports cars.” Vanquish uses the latest generation of Aston Martin’s class-leading VH (Vertical Horizontal) architecture, and a lightweight bonded aluminium structure that provides outstanding strength and rigidity. Carbon fibre is used to make every external panel giving a high strength to weight radio. The torsional rigidity of new Vanquish is 25% stiffer than DBS, offering greater flexibility with better responsiveness and predictable controllability. The new Vanquish produces exceptional power from a revised new naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine coupled with the proven Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic gearbox, offering suitably impressive performance figures. As to the driving experience, the new Vanquish blends perfect balance, high stability, flexible controllability and minimum body weight. The latest iteration of Aston Martin’s Adaptive Damping System (ADS) and the third generation Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes enable the new Vanquish not only to perform on the track, but also to satisfy the demands of daily driving. As happy on the streets of a bustling city as it is carving through the countryside or long distance motorway touring, the Vanquish offers a thoroughbred British luxury sports car that’s also suited to everyday use. Andy Gawthorpe, Global Sales Director, said: “After the establishment of the wholly-owned subsidiary Aston Martin Lagonda China Automobile Limited Company in 2011, we have made great progress in the Chinese market. The establishment of the national sales company, the appointment of Ms. Jenny Zheng, a new Regional Director, and the establishment of today’s dealer network all demonstrate that China is one of our most important markets in the world.” Jenny Zheng, the newly-appointed Regional Director of Aston Martin China, commented: ” To support the rapid development of the Chinese luxury sports car market, Aston Martin has 13 dealerships in operation, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Shenyang, Chongqing, Kunming and Ordos. With the growing dealer network, we have tailor-made a training programme specifically for the Chinese market, to ensure each dealer can provide the best quality of service to our customers in China.” “Our commitment to China’s market is reflected not only in our growing dealer network, but also in our diverse qualified services.” Jenny added, “This year, we have launched our bespoke ‘Service Clinic’. This one-to-one consulation and accompanied drive by the senior technical consultant from Aston Martin UK headquarters enabled our owners to enjoy fully the Aston Martin ownership experience. In addition, we launched our bespoke ‘Q by Aston Martin’ service early this year to satisfy the individual requests for personalisation of our Chinese customers.” Dr. Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin, commented: “Throughout our 100 year company history, Aston Martin has created a rich heritage of unique sports cars. The release of the new Vanquish and the return of the classic DB5 in the James Bond movie Skyfall mark a great beginning for Aston Martin’s next century in 2013.”
