Renault has
started accepting bookings for it entry level hatchback Kwid in India. The
booking amount varies between Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 50,000 depending up on the
location and dealers have promised to deliver the vehicle by September end.
Renault Kwid is
a highly anticipated car by Renault and looks to change its fortune in India.
The Kwid will directly compete with market leader Maruti Alto and will be
priced between Rs. 3-4 lakh. The Kwid is bigger in dimensions than its
competitors – Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon & Datsun Go which is a big plus
point to the car. Coupled with SUVish design and good fuel efficiency Kwid is
set to change the Indian automotive scene in the entry level car segment.
The other
highlighting features of the car are – high ground clearance, body cladding,
simple but useful dashboard, touchscreen infotainment system with USB and AUX
connectivity and big boot space. As for the quality is concerned, Renault will
make sure to build Kwid on par with other cars namely Duster, Lodgy etc.
Early September
launch is expected. Of course the launch will be a mega event by Renault with
its top boss launching the car.
