San Mateo, Calif.-based mobile telematics company Driveway Software Inc. said it has appointed Mike Simmons chief executive officer. He succeeds company founder and Chief Technology Officer Igor Katsman, who will remain with the company. Simmons joins from Automatic Labs, where he was head of business development.

Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe Ltd. said John Elkann has been appointed chairman of its board of directors. He is also chairmand and CEO of Turin, Italy-based Exor S.p.A, the owner of PartnerRe. He is based in New York City.

PartnerRe also announced that Emmanuel Clarke has been promoted to president and CEO, from president. He joined the company in 1997 and is based in Zurich.

Bangor, Maine-based independent agency Cross Insurance said it has appointed Abram Treadwell account executive of personal lines and Sean Doyle account executive of commercial lines.  Both will be based in its Lewiston, Maine, office. Treadwell joins from State Farm and Doyle joins from USI Insurance Services.

Kansas City-based independent insurance broker Lockton operation said it has promoted Ted Brown to executive vice president of its Mountain West operation in Denver. He has been with Brown has been with Lockton since 2006.

McLean, Va.-based insurance broker and risk management consulting company Ames & Gough said it has appointed Cady M. Sinks broker. She joins from Clark Construction, where she was director of risk management.

Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Aspen Insurance said it has appointed Daniel Murphy senior vice president of energy and construction. He joins from Liberty International Underwriters, where he was a vice president. Murphy will be based in Chicago.

Los Angeles-based national wholesale brokerage and managing general agent Worldwide Facilities LLC said that it has named Philip Collins and Matt Sheehan senior vice presidents of financial services in its Dallas office. Both join from CRC Insurance Services Inc.
