The next-generation Honda Civic Coupe has been caught testing.

Although the Coupe is shrouded in heavy black camouflage, the wheelbase of the prototype matches up perfectly with that of Civic sedan prototype (pictured wrapped in white) we have previously seen testing. It looks like the new Civic will have a sleeker design than the current car, some of which appears borrowed from the Acura ILX.

Another tipoff that this is the Coupe is the the more raked stance compared to the Civic sedan seen in these photos.

The 10th-generation Civic will ride on a new scalable platform that will also underpin the next-generation Honda Accord. Rumor has it that the car will be built in the North America and exported to global markets. The new Civic is expected to arrive in 2016 as a 2017 model year vehicle.

For power, a new turbocharged 1.5-liter engine is rumored to join the lineup.
