The 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid and Energi models are getting a price cut.

According to Cars Direct, ordering guides for the Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi reveal a $900 price reduction for the 2016 model year, which is expected to hit the market in 2015. That means the 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid will start from $26,500 including destination while the Fusion Energi will be priced at $34,725.

In what appears to be an effort to fight back against dropping gas prices and to make electrified vehicles more appealing, the price adjustment only affects the Hybrid and Energi models. The change in price doesn’t cut any standard features from either of the cars.

The Energi is reportedly getting a new EcoSelect driving mode that activates regenerative braking and softer acceleration. This also means that the next-generation Fusion won’t be a 2016 model year as was originally suspected when spy photos appeared of the model being tested. It is now more likely going to be introduced as a 2017 model.
