“Vampire Diaries,” Episode 21 “Requiem for a Dream” may have brought some relief for fans. The last episode held a shard of hope that Bonnie Bennett could survive without harbouring feelings of killing all her friends, all the time. Sure, murdering your friends is frowned upon even in the world of vampires but Bonnie’s tendencies are a legacy of the Vampire hunter, Rayna. And naturally, the last episode has also left fans worried for the leads of the show. Which apparently, was the intention all along.
The showrunner Julie Plec shared with E! News that fans should definitely be worried that Bonnie doesn’t end up killing one of her friends before a permanent cure is found. Plec shared, “I think you need to be a little bit worried about everybody because otherwise it wouldn’t be the end of the season.” The penultimate episode witnessed Bonnie marking her friend Caroline and her boyfriend Enzo and almost killing Damon!
It has already been teased that the finale will see the equation between Bonnie and Damon change drastically with the Salvatore brother making the “ultimate sacrifice” for his BFF. This sure has been keeping many fans awake at night, but thankfully, the day isn’t far when the finale will be telecasted. No doubt, leaving us again with more questions than ever. As for the latest episode, it also gave much hope to viewers who are rooting for Steroline. Stefan had a heart-to-heart with Caroline being on the run, away from Alaric and the baby girls, on the road with Stefan. In the meantime, Enzo figured a way out to save Bonnie and it requires them to unlink her from the Everlasting and oh! they will need to open the armoury again.
Plec also added, “They have a laundry list of things they need to accomplish.”
Catch the “Vampire Diaries” season finale on Friday, May 13 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
