Fans waiting for the release of “Fifty Shades Darker” might have to wait longer. Rumors surfaced of a possible delay because of actor Jamie Dornan’s wife.
According to The Stir, filming of the movie is set to begin on January 2016 in time for the February 2017 premiere.
However, the site noted that Dornan felt “compelled” to stop filming because his wife, Amelia Warner, was reportedly “upset and disturbed” by the sequel’s more intimate and sexy scenes which her husband will share with Dakota Johnson.
It was recently revealed that “Fifty Shades Darker” might be given an R-21 rating, suggesting that it will be more explicit compared to the successful “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
There have also been rumors that Dornan and Johnson had an off-screen romance after filming “Fifty Shade of Grey”, Movie News Guide noted. Warner was reportedly jealous of the leading lady.
However, Dornan slammed the rumors during his interview with Belfast Telegraph.
The site quoted him saying that all of the rumors regarding his wife’s negative reaction to “Fifty Shades Darker” is a “complete b******t.”
Amelia has also shown full support for his husband’s career, moving to Canada after giving birth so she could be with Dornan for the duration of the movie’s filming.
The Christian Grey actor added that he’s “still smitten” by his wife so an off-screen romance with Dakota is impossible.
“I was smitten from the start, I really was. I’m more in love with her today than I was at the start, so no,” the actor revealed after being asked if there was anything about his wife that irritated him.
The couple got married 3 years ago and has a 19-month old daughter named Dulcie.
Aside from reprising the role of Mr. Grey, Jamie Dornan will also be starring as Jan Kubis in the upcoming film “Anthropoid”. He will be playing a real life Czech agent who killed Reinhard Heydrich, one of the “Holocaust Architects.”
The movie is set to be released in 2016, according to IMDb.
