The Intermedia Group, the publisher of Australian Ageing Agenda has announced a number of staff appointments in recognition of growth within the group

Linda Belardi, appointed editor of Community Care Review

Linda Belardi has been appointed editor of Community Care Review and will be responsible for overseeing Australia’s new magazine on home care, support, respite and reablement. Ms Belardi has been deputy editor of AAA since 2013 and is a former editor of Nursing Review.

Ms Belardi said that since the AAA group launched Community Care Review in January there had been overwhelmingly positive feedback from providers and staff, confirming that the publication was providing a much-needed source of news and analysis of the issues impacting the growing community care sector.

“Given the current reforms rolling out, and the next wave of changes recently announced by government, the challenges and opportunities in the community care sector are significant. I look forward to further developing Community Care Review to be a strong source of independent, high quality news and analysis for the sector,” she said.

Natasha Egan, appointed editor of Technology Review

Elsewhere, Natasha Egan has been appointed editor of Technology Review, in recognition of her insightful reporting of technology in the sector and her contribution to the growing popularity of the magazine.

Ms Egan has also been appointed deputy editor of AAA and will work across the group, reporting on the uses of technology in residential, community aged care and retirement living.

“This is an exciting time for technology adoption in aged and healthcare, with a number of major new players entering the space. We are also delighted to have recently started a regular editorial column from the Aged Care Industry ICT Company in Technology Review magazine, where it will provide the sector with the latest news on its activities and programs,” said Ms Egan.

Intermedia also announced the appointment of Jackie Keast as a journalist working on AAA magazine and online. Ms Keast is a Master of Arts (Journalism) graduate of University of Technology, Sydney, where she recently completed a 10,000-word series of articles on age discrimination in the workplace and the experiences of mature age job seekers.

Kelly Wintle has been appointed national sales executive to the AAA group, and will be working alongside Carmella Rowsthorne in handling advertising and marketing across AAA magazine and online, Community Care Review and Technology Review.

Expansion of online news services

AAA online has recently been expanded to house dedicated sections for both Community Care Review and Technology Review, providing readers with a comprehensive and integrated source of news, analysis and opinion from the three publications.

In addition, readers can now subscribe for dedicated weekly Community Care Review and Technology Review newsletters, which will complement both magazines by providing news and coverage of resources, education and events in the sectors.
