Below is a summary of APS related election results from Superintendent Rico Munn. Welcome to our new board members!
BOE: New Members
Aurora Public Schools proudly welcomes three new members to the APS Board of Education. Voters selected Amber Drevon, Eric Nelson and Barbara Yamrick to join the APS board. Voters also re-elected JulieMarie Shepherd for a second term. We look forward to working with the new board members to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day.
BOE: Outgoing Members
Aurora Public Schools sincerely thanks outgoing APS Board of Education members Jane Barber, Jeanette Carmany and Matt Cook for their service. Barber, Carmany and Cook were term limited and will certainly be missed!
Amendment 66
Aurora Public Schools staff is committed to accelerating learning for every APS student, every day. Because Amendment 66 did not pass, funding continues to be a challenge for school districts throughout the state, and Aurora Public Schools is no different. Over the past five years, APS has lost more than $166 million in state per pupil revenue due to budget shortfalls at the state level. Despite the financial challenges, APS staff remains committed to providing our students with the best educational experience possible.
