ATTN: AUTO MECHANIC FRIENDS! I NEED HELP! My car's check engine light came on Tuesday. The car's transmission felt like it was SLIPPING out of gear. I was almost home. Next time I drove was Thursday. On my way home (only 6 miles after I felt the slipping on Tuesday) the car felt as if it was JUMPING, almost like a dog panting, and it felt as if I was driving on four flat tires. I had a hard time even driving and maintaining 20mph. Luckily I was almost home. I know I need my car towed, but trying to figure out what my problem is so I know which shop to tow it to, my two trusted shops are far away. One would be the manufacturer who would pull codes, and the other is the mom and pop's shop that is fair and honest and more affordable, but they don't do transmissions. Since I can't drive it, I need to chose wisely! Thanks!
