For years, I didn’t get why anyone had any interest in the Kardashians. It’s not that I’m above reality TV. I just didn’t understand the fascination with three curvy sisters who didn’t really do…anything.
That all changed when Kim Kardashian got pregnant with her first child, however. I started to like her, much to my own surprise. Instead of seeing her as a vapid reality star, I saw her as another mum doing the best she could, despite all the pressure and criticism she faced. When Kim was pregnant, she endured more scrutiny over her maternity fashion and her pregnancy weight gain than anyone should ever have to. And once she gave birth to North West, Kim was the subject of criticism over just about everything, from her child’s name to the amount of time they theoretically spent together. Seeing the way Kim gracefully navigated the ugly attention that came her way, made me respect her.
Whether you love her or hate her, you have to admit that Kim’s daughter North West is utterly adorable. North’s mum and dad (Kanye West) might be two of the most famous people in the world, but she’s just another Minnie Mouse loving, ballet shoe wearing, cousin loving toddler. And, hey, even if you’re not a fan of her parents, you’ll have a hard time not loving these adorable photos of little North.
