Camouflage isn’t just for hunters anymore. Many people wear camo as a fashion statement. They want to be seen, whereas hunters use camouflage to blend in with the environment and stalk game. UTV and ATV manufacturers are all over the camo phenomenon and water-dip camo patterns onto a multitude of UTVs and ATVs. Polaris, Can-Am and Bad Boy go a step further by offering hunter editions. Polaris and Honda even have their own exclusive patterns—Polaris Pursuit Camo and Honda Phantom Camo. Yamaha and Kawasaki partner with Realtree Outdoors for their camo needs, and Yamaha has partnered with several conservation groups to promote and preserve hunting opportunities. Yamaha Outdoors gives away one of its 4×4 UTVs or ATVs in support of the annual National Hunting and Fishing Day each year.
OEM CAMOUFLAGE PATTERNS FOR 2017
Sadly, two of our favorite camo patterns of 2016 won’t be returning for 2017. The Can-Am Maverick 1000 X mr and Max X mr Digital Camo pattern and the Arctic Cat camo/Blaze Orange TRV700SE and Wildcat Sport 700 SE weren’t among the initial 2017 press launches. Here’s the news on 2017 camouflage.
ARCTIC CAT: HDX700 and Crew UTVs and Alterra XT700 ATVs get True Timber Fall HTC Camo dips and coordinating clothing accessories. Also, Bass Pro Shop Arctic Cat dealers are offering the API Outdoors ATV rear rack organizer ($99.99) and UTV 2-Gun bag ($99.99) in Realtree Xtra and an API ATV cover in Realtree APG for $49.99.
CAN-AM: Defender and Defender Max DPS, XT and XT Cab packages include Mossy Oak Break-Up Country, as do Outlander XT ATV and Commander XT UTV trim packages. BRP also offers a Defender HD10 Mossy Oak Hunting Edition ($19,699), a Commander 1000 Mossy Oak Hunting Edition ($18,899), and an Outlander Mossy Oak Hunting Edition 570 ($9649) and 1000 ($13,649). Outlander MOHEs come with a 3000-pound winch, Kolpin gun boot and gear grips, and a spotlight. Commander MOHEs have Kolpin 6.0 Impact gun boots and a 4500-pound winch, while the Defender MOHE sports Kolpin Stronghold gun boots and tool holders.
KAWASAKI: Realtree Xtra Green Camo dips are available on the Brute Force 750 EPS for an extra $600 and on the Teryx4 and Teryx 800FI models with roofs for $500–$1300, as well as Mule, Mule SX, Pro-FX and Pro-FXT models. Kawasaki also ups the invisibility factor with Teryx and Teryx4 fabric roofs ($119.95–$149.95), soft cab enclosures ($334.95–$469.95), soft cabin doors ($579.95–$769.95), and Mule ProFXT seat covers ($76.95), a cab enclosure roof/back ($389.95) and doors ($719.95) in Realtree Xtra Green. Mule SX cab enclosures are $304.95, and it’s another $579.95 for the doors.
HONDA: Honda Phantom Camo returns on the 2017 Rincon 680, Rancher 420 (ATVs $450 extra), Pioneer 1000-5, Pioneer 700 and Pioneer 500 4x4s. For the Pioneer 1000-5, Honda offers an HPC fabric roof/back option for $259.95 and doors for $525.95 front and $599.95 rear.
POLARIS: Polaris Pursuit Camo is available on select Sportsman ATVs and Ranger UTVs, including the Ranger 570, 570-4, XP 900, Crew XP 1000 and EV Li-Ion. In addition, Polaris also offers a Hunter Edition General ($18,999) and a Ranger 1000 EPS ($16,999) with EBS and Active Descent Control (ADC), a 4500-pound winch, and Lock & Ride gun scabbards and mount. Sportsman 570 SP ($9799) and XP 1000 ($12,999) Hunter Editions come with a 2500-pound winch, gun scabbard, bumpers, rear rack extender, work lights, and hand and thumb warmers. The 1000 HE also has Kolpin gear claws and a rear LED work light.
SUZUKI: KingQuad 4×4 ATVs get True Timber Camouflage for 2017, and it’s available on 750AXi, 750AXi EPS, 500AXi, 500AXi EPS and 400ASi models for $400. Suzuki doesn’t offer any camo accessories, but does have a gun-boot mount for $79.95 and gun boot for $72.95.
BAD BOY OFF-ROAD: The new Stampede 900 EPS Extra Cab comes in Realtree Xtra for an extra $600, so “make some noise” but stay stealth. Bad Boy also offers a Hunter package for another $3,751, and it includes a sun roof, full windshield, front rack, winch, and heavy-duty front and rear bumpers. Bad Boy’s accessory gun mount ($145.99) and bow holder ($195.99) use L-track seat-back mounts.
KYMCO: Kymco UXV700i, UXV500i, UXV450i and MXU450i 4x4s come in the True Timber New Conceal Camo version, and Kymco offers a UXV gun-boot kit with mount for $274.99.
YAMAHA: Realtree Xtra camo dips are available on the 2017 Yamaha Grizzly and Kodiak 700 ATVs for $450, on the Wolverine 700s and Vikings for an extra $300, and on the Viking VI UTVs for $600. Yamaha offers camo ATV seat covers for $49.99 and also has gun-boot mounts for $74.99 and gun boots for $59.99. Wolverine gun-boot mounts are $199.99, and the Deluxe gun boot with removable gun case is $107.49. Viking gun-boot mounts are $233.95. The camo soft sun top starts at $134.99, and Viking VI camo polyester seat and headrest covers are $179.99.
JOHN DEERE: The RSX860i and select other XUVs are available in Realtree Hardwoods Camo for an extra $650.
VISTA CAMO: Cub Cadet offers Vista G2 Camo for its Challenger 700 and 500 UTVs, while Bennche, Hisun Motors and Massimo Motors have UTVs with Vista Camo wraps.
AFTERMARKET CAMOUFLAGE

They include a roof, back and doors with acrylic windows, and are made of 500-denier nylon or 600-denier PVC-backed polyester (Teryx only).
MUD: Moose also makes camo-fabric roof caps in Mossy Oak Break-Up for Prowlers, RZRs, mid- and full-sized Rangers, Rhinos, and Vikings for $84.95–$109.95. They feature hook-and-loop roll-cage closures or buckled straps (Rangers).
