IT’S ON US WEEK
Monday, April 4-Friday, April 8, 2016
Library Plaza

ASUU’s It’s On Us Week takes place April 4-8. The theme for this year is consent.

“The theme is focused on adding an active intervention piece to the campaign,” said Ashlynn McCarter, ASUU director of Student Advocacy. “Last year we focused on spreading awareness, and this year we are focused on giving students tools to be a part of the solution.”

Throughout the week there will be various booths in Library Plaza where students can get involved. Just like last year, students will have the chance to take the It’s On Us pledge, there will be a booth where students can receive a University of Utah decal by putting emergency numbers (university police, counseling center, national rape recovery hotline, etc.) into their phones and each day a different sexual assault resource center will be showcased. Finally, there will be a photo booth for students to express how they support survivors of sexual assault. These photos will be hung the following day in Library Plaza for the remainder of the week.

For more information on It’s On Us or to take the pledge visit itsonus.org.

Tuesday, April 5, 2016 | 7 p.m.
Orson Spencer Hall (OSH

“Walk the Ridge”

Director: Mathieu Le Lay

3 minutes

While exploring new mountain spots, Mathieu Le Lay’s camera followed Benjamin Dowie to make a short portrait of the Australian filmmaker inspired by the mountain environment. The two filmmakers hiked four peaks in a week. Amongst those peaks, there was the massive Mont Buet standing at 3096 meters in front of the Mont-Blanc mountain range. To reach this peak, they climbed up to 2,225 meters during seven exhausting hours. They set up their camp on top of the mountain during a fresh night to wake up with one of the most outstanding mountain view they had ever seen.

“Streif”

Directors: Gerald Salmina and Tom Dauer

142 minutes

The fairy-tale Tyrolean town of Kitzbühel buzzes with energy as the 2013 Hahnenkamm Races end with a boisterous party. And for good reason: nowhere else are the elite World Cup skiers so happy to have gotten through a race in one piece. They see Hahnenkamm Mountain’s downhill course, the Streif, as the ultimate challenge, which can be mastered only with perfect technique and extraordinary courage.

Tickets cost $15 per person. Students can use the promo code uofustudent to get a discounted price of $5 per person.
