Safely and comfortably detox from drugs and alcohol in a relaxed, non-clinical environment at CASA Recovery.

Mental health and physical health are linked in many faith traditions, and recent science has proven empirically that there are bi-directional influences on our holistic health.

When someone is suffering from addiction, it’s a life-long battle to managing the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health impacts of the disease.

During recovery, there is nothing more important than a caring and supportive environment that helps the patient detoxify their physical body while attending with equal care to their other needs.  Without therapies that focus on the mental state of the client, gaining a real understanding of the behaviors that led to addictive behavior will be difficult, if not impossible.  Understanding alone won’t help the addict manage life after recovery.  The spiritual and emotional strength to change those behaviors require skill that a team of treatment professionals who have experience and dedication to serving the whole person will bring to the table.

The experience of recovery is well-named.  Recovering the person who has been dealing with addiction is the primary role of the therapist and counselors.  Under their addiction is a human being who has been hurt, and who has resorted to drugs or alcohol as a means of treating their pain and loneliness.  The results of addiction cause even more pain and unrest, and lead the client through a spiral of bad decisions.  This is typically when treatment comes into play:  at the lowest point in a person’s addiction cycle.

A treatment facility needs to have a well-rounded suite of therapies in order to help a client find themselves.  In addition to the traditional personal psychotherapy and the common use of group therapies, building the skills that can lead a person to a lasting recovery require real-life management tools.  Understanding the role of physical exercise is often very helpful to an addict, who can apply a well-designed physical fitness regime to improve control over their physical body.   Learning mindfulness and meditative techniques like yoga and spiritual study will serve as a foundation long after the initial stages of treatment are over.

The journey to addiction recovery is one with many steps and stages, but the destination is well worth the effort.  There are healthy, enjoyable habits that can help a recovering addict stay away from triggers.  This same set of habits will help the patient regain and maintain a lifestyle that was once out of reach.
