Midtown’s Raw Denim boutique has announced it will close its physical location in the 12th & Midtown development and become an online only store after a brazen armed robbery on March 8.

According to Atlanta Police, three armed thieves entered Raw Denim at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday afternoon and took an estimated $10,000 worth of clothing and an undetermined amount of cash. The clerk told officers that three black men held her at gunpoint while a fourth stood outside to keep watch. They had their faces partially covered with hoodies and shirts, according to the report.

Owner Emily Lipman, who was featured on Bravo’s reality show The New Atlanta, sent an email to customers and posted a note on Facebook about her decision to close the shop:

“As some of you may already know, we were unfortunately robbed Saturday in the middle of the day. This has happened to us before but never in a million years would I think they would come in as violent as they did on Saturday. I spent the last few days thinking long and hard as to what direction I should go in. With that being said, I have made a very tough but I think best decision I can make. We are unfortunately closing our store front business in Midtown however, we will continue to carrry our fabulous styles on our online boutique! www.rawdenimatlanta.com.”

This is not the first time the store has been targeted, as Lipman alluded to in her email. Before moving to 12th and Midtown, Raw Denim was the victim of a smash and grab robbery when it was located on E. Andrews in Buckhead. The boutique moved into 12th & Midtown  last year.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery should contact Crime Stoppers  Atlanta at (404) 577-8477 or at crimestoppersatlanta.org. Those living tips do not have to give their name and might be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
