Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip have been making hip-hop classics since they collaborated on Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario.” Now the two New York rap legends are back together for their new mixtape “The Abstract and the Dragon.” Busta released a video for the track “Thank You” last month that created plenty of buzz among hip-hop fans, and now the mixtape is here.

According to stereogum.com:

“After old rap guys Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip reunited on the excellent new tracks “Thank You” and “Butch & Sundance,” with both of them sounding absolutely reinvigorated, expectations were high for their new mixtape The Abstract & The Dragon. As it turns out, the new tape is not an all-new and full-length, which is what most of us were hoping for. Still, it’s a deeply fun listen: A compilation of all their collaborations throughout the years (and there have been a lot of them), mixed in with a few new collabs, some skits where they’re happily talking to each other, and a few surprises like a version of a Tribe Called Quest’s “Oh My God” with a verse from Busta. (He was just on the hook on the original track.)”

Both Busta and Q-Tip are also busy working other projects as well, so it was great that they made time for The Abstract and the Dragon Mixtape. Busta is currently working on his new album E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event 2), a follow up to his 1998 classic. And Q-Tip recently announced that he will be producing Kanye West’s next album along with Rick Rubin, which Kanye hopes to be out by next summer.
