LINUX ENGINEER – CONTRACT/CTP – ALPHARETTA, GA

Linux Engineer Skills & Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as an infrastructure engineer / systems administrator.
• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Expert knowledge of Ethernet and TCP/IP.
• Experience managing and supporting multiple operating systems, environments and applications.
• Expert proficiency in Linux system metrics and tools.
• Proficiency in designing and supporting networks, including firewall configuration.
• Experience provisioning and configuring a variety of servers.
• Experience with network, server and application security.
• Deep experience with HTTP and Internet applications and services.
• Ability to analyze, dissect and re-engineer existing solutions.
• Excellent time management skills are a must. The candidate must be able to complete projects on tight deadlines while handling numerous unplanned interruptions.
• Excellent communication skills.

Linux Skills:
• 5+ years Linux Admin Experience.
• Data center experience in a production hosted facility.
• RHEL & CentOS server installation experience.
• HP Hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
• Hardware upgrades (RAM, CPU, HBA’s)
• Experience with kick start.
• Exposure to vulnerability assessment software and security patching. User management ( Kerberos, openLDAP).
• Scripting using bash, ksh, or python.
• Xen virtualization.
• Apache & Tomcat configuration and maintenance, including client authenticated SSL
• LVM management.
• Patch management.
Networking:
• Configure Linux and windows IP parameters.
• Understanding of VLANs, including setting up network equipment to use access and trunk ports
• Configure, troubleshoot VPN clients.
• Add/remove web servers on the load balancer.
• SSL certificate management.
Storage (SAN):
• General SAN experience with Enterprise SAN solutions (Hitachi, NetApp, EMC, HP)
• Understanding of iSCSI & fiber channel connections.
• Understanding of NFS connections.
