The Story So Far

As March opens, we have one retrograde planet: Jupiter thru 4/8. And the pervasive energies of revolutionary transformation (a Uranus-Pluto square), as well as universal love, compassion and spiritual awakening (Neptune in Pisces), remain powerful for years to come!

Concise Overview

This section contains forecasts for the most important astrological events in March and April. Be sure to also check out the forecasts in my semimonthly email newsletter, which include graphics and cover many additional events!

Revelations in the areas of religion, philosophy and the meaning of life can flow to you easily and naturally with Jupiter trine Uranus (14°35′ Leo-Aries) on 3/3. It’s also a great time to expand your worldview by gaining insights from other cultures. With Jupiter in Leo, quantum leaps are also smoothly available to leaders and performers.

You have plenty of time to reap the benefits of this aspect: this Jupiter-Uranus trine came into orb on 1/12, and remains active all the way through 8/4!

You can take advantage of a potent opportunity for revolutionary transformation in relationships, creativity and finance as Venus conjoins Uranus and squares Pluto on 3/4. If it’s over and done with, let it go. If it needs adjusting, fix it. If it’s already working great, remember that “it always gets better than this” and take it to the next level!

Virgo Full Moon

A Virgo Full Moon illuminates the night on 3/5 at 1:05 pm EST. It’s an ideal time for adjustments (a favorite Virgoan activity) in the areas of health, service, systems and procedures.

Aspects

Virgo enjoys making lots of incremental improvements. But the Moon’s very tight trine to Pluto and quincunx to Uranus indicate that even radical change might be appropriate now. With the Moon also tightly quincunx Venus, these changes might relate to relationships, creativity or money.

The Moon also opposes Chiron and Neptune in Pisces. This welcomes the energy of healing, mentoring, creative inspiration and spiritual awakening.

Sabian Symbol

This Full Moon’s Sabian Symbol is, “A fine lace ornamental handkerchief.” You could also blow your nose into a Kleenex, but it wouldn’t feel the same, would it? This symbol asks: how can you uplift your life’s vibration by bringing beauty, grace and craftsmanship into your ordinary everyday activities?

Expansive energy smoothly fuels leadership and new beginnings with Mars trine Jupiter (13°56′ Aries-Leo) on 3/10. This uplifting vibe also supports sexuality, invention and fighting for a worthy cause. This aspect is active 2/28 thru 3/19.

Proceed with caution or go for broke? You can play Mars’ conjunction with Uranus (15°0′ Aries) and square with Pluto (15°12′ Aries-Capricorn) on 3/11 either way. This can be a time of extreme volatility and unpredictability. It also can fuel quantum leaps to the next level! Its effects can be felt 3/2 thru 3/21.

My advice: take immediate action on your intuitive flashes, release all that doesn’t support your rapid evolution, and let the huge power unleashed by these aspects be guided by your inner wisdom. Let the breakthroughs begin!

The Final Uranus-Pluto Square: #7 of 7

The final Uranus-Pluto square is here at last on 3/16, number seven out of seven. But don’t lay down in your comfy hammock and heave a sigh of relief just yet. This aspect will continue to radiate revolutionary transformation for the rest of the 2010s!

This series of Uranus-Pluto squares is the astrological headliner of the decade, and could be considered the primary catalyst for all the rapid, radical change we’re experiencing. From ISIS, cyberwarfare and congressional gridlock to Uber, gay marriage and the iPhone 6, this world-changing aspect deserves at least part of the credit or blame.

On a personal level, I recommend that you release everything that has outworn its usefulness. Do your best to be guided and energized by the divine power within you. Express your authentic human self into the world. Follow your intuitive flashes. And serve others with your unique talents!

Solar Eclipse

The solar eclipse on 3/20 at 5:36 AM EDT is remarkable for a number of reasons. It’s in the final degree of Pisces, and occurs about an hour before the Spring Equinox. And it only aspects feminine planets: Venus and the four asteroid goddesses!

But let’s start with the basics. Any solar eclipse is like a supercharged New Moon, and its effects can last many months. Any Pisces New Moon is great for new beginnings in the areas of divine union practices and expressing your inspired creativity.

But, since it lines up at 29°27′ Pisces, this solar eclipse is right on the border of Aries. So for the third month in a row, we need to blend adjacent signs into a lunation interpretation. But how can you coherently combine the radically different energies of Aries and Pisces, the alpha and omega of astrological signs?

For starters, we have a common theme: both Aries and New Moons are about fresh starts, or applying new energy to existing projects. So this adds even more juice to the idea of kickstarting or rekindling spirituality and creativity.

We can also creatively combine the meanings of Pisces and Aries. So this lunation can bolster sacred sexuality, inspired action, spiritual warriorship and erotic creativity.

Aspects

As mentioned above, this solar eclipse only aspects feminine planets. To be specific, it trines Juno, sextiles Ceres, squares Pallas Athena and semi-sextiles Vesta and Venus.

In this context, the superabundance of femininity is more important than the meaning of the specific aspects. In my opinion, this is an amazing opportunity for the divine feminine, already on the rise, to root itself even more firmly into Gaia’s energetic matrix.

The soul-crushing millennia of imbalanced patriarchy – domineering “power over” that selfishly exploits for greed and control – is ending. In order to stave off a horrific environmental catastrophe and restore respect for all of the earth’s living beings, we must embrace our feminine sides. It’s time to become more intuitive, loving, compassionate and sensitive, whether the bodies we inhabit are male, female or something in between.

The principle of morphic resonance, also called the “hundredth monkey effect,” radiates the energy of everything you do out to the collective. When you embody these feminine qualities in graceful harmony with the masculine, you make it easier for everyone else to do so as well. So never believe that you can’t make a difference in the world, since everything you do creates a “butterfly effect” on some level.

Sabian Symbol

The Sabian Symbol for this solar eclipse is rather loquacious: “A majestic rock formation resembling a face is idealized by a boy who takes it as his ideal of greatness; as he grows up, he begins to look like it.”

The idea here is that you are powerfully influenced by whatever you consistently focus on. Choose positive, uplifting environments and stimuli. We tend to become like the people we associate with, so spend time with people who more fully embody the qualities you want to develop.

Consciously cultivate the thoughts that reflect the reality you desire, since your dominant thoughts and emotions constantly shape the external world you interact with. Use the Law of Attraction and the Pivot Technique to consciously co-create your reality and keep your mind more focused on what you really want.

By the way, I’m not suggesting that you sweep your “dark side” under the rug. There’s also a time and place to dive into the psychological depths and integrate our shadow self into our personas. But focusing mostly on the bright side of life is a great foundational strategy.

This may be my longest solar eclipse interpretation ever! But a lunation with such rich possibilities deserves a proper explanation of its potentials. Milk them for all they’re worth!

Spring Equinox

The Sun enters Aries on 3/20 at 6:45 pm EDT, marking the Spring Equinox. New beginnings, sexuality, warriorship and self-development are energized.

Spring Equinox Chart: Highlights

The highlight of the Spring Equinox Chart is a very tight Uranus-Pluto square aligning with Arean Mars and the lunar nodes. The clear message here is to promptly make whatever revolutionary changes are needed to put you into alignment with your life purpose.

The Spring Equinox Chart also features Mercury sandwiched between Neptune and Chiron, with all three planets in Pisces. This supports a mental focus on healing and mentoring, especially if these activities use intuitive and/or spiritual modalities.

Mercury rules the hands and arms in medical astrology, so this Mercury-Chiron-Neptune triple conjunction specifically supports spiritual healing. You can do this yourself, even if you have no prior experience with this sort of thing, with this simple invocation for flowing light to others.

Grand Trine: Sun-Juno-Saturn

Partnerships of all kinds receive smooth support under a Sun-Juno-Saturn Grand Trine. This equilateral triangle is the epitome of harmonious balance, but the planet’s placements in fire signs adds enthusiasm and excitement into the mix. This aspect pattern starts on 3/17, peaks on 3/25 and wraps up on 4/2.

T-square: Mars-Juno-Ceres

Abundance catalyzed through partnership is one opportunity offered by a Mars-Juno-Ceres T-square. The abundance indicators are Ceres (goddess of the harvest) and Mars’ placement in Taurus, a money sign. And partnership is a fundamental meaning of Juno. This aspect pattern starts on 3/27, peaks on 4/3 and wraps up on 4/13.

Lunar Eclipse

A lunar eclipse occurs on 4/4 at 8:06 am EDT (14°24′ Libra). This “Full Moon on steroids” is great for evaluating and making adjustments in the areas of relationship and creativity. The luminaries are only about 4.5° from the lunar nodes, marking this as an eclipse whose impact will resonate potently for many months.

Aspects

This eclipse’s strength is further augmented because it tightly aligns with the Uranus-Pluto square: the Sun is conjunct Uranus, and Pluto squares both luminaries. This indicates that revolutionary transformation is greenlighted in all areas of life affected by the eclipse.

The two planets of learning and communication also aspect the Moon: Mercury makes an opposition while Jupiter creates a sextile. What fine-tuning would be appropriate in the information you’re taking in or giving out to the world? And with Mercury and Jupiter both in fire signs, you can share your message with abundant enthusiasm!

Sabian Symbol

This lunar eclipse’s Sabian Symbol is, “Circular paths.” This reminds me of a teaching I heard Linda Star Wolf give at a recent shamanic breathwork training. She said that spiritual evolution is a spiral path, not a straight line. We hit a certain plateau of spiritual attainment, stabilize for a bit, then start spiraling up to the next level.

En route, it may seem that we’re regressing because of the challenges we encounter. But we’re really clearing the dense energies that stand between us and the next higher level of realization. It’s all forward motion, even if it seems that we’re moving backwards.

The Uranus-Pluto square is rekindled once again as the Sun squares Pluto (15°30′ Aries-Capricorn) on 4/5 and conjoins Uranus (16°27′ Aries) on 4/6. The Sun is the core of identity, so take this opportunity to shed the aspects of personality that no longer serve you. Take a quantum leap into your authentic self!

Stay open to new ideas as Mercury squares Pluto (15°31′ Aries-Capricorn) on 4/7 and conjoins Uranus (16°33′ Aries) on 4/8. This is also a great time to share your message of positive change with the world!

Mystic Rectangle: Venus-Juno-Ceres-Saturn

A Mystic Rectangle provides a variety of opportunities. It’s helpful to think of the energies of Juno, Ceres and Saturn focusing on Venus, the fastest planet in this aspect pattern. Venus has three fundamental meanings, and all lend themselves to meaningful interpretations here.

In relationships, this Mystic Rectangle can help stabilize your self-esteem in committed partnerships. In creative pursuits, having a collaborator can lend stability and profitability to your enterprise. And financially speaking, a business or investment partner can help you overcome any challenges that arise and help you attain a larger return on your investment.

This aspect pattern starts on 4/12, peaks on 4/16 and ends on 4/22.

Two T-squares peak on 4/17, involving completely different sets of planets.

T-square: Venus-Vesta-Saturn-Neptune

This dynamic aspect pattern is custom-made for Law of Attraction work, thanks to the square between Neptune (visualization) and Saturn (crystallization). Since their energies connect to Venus, using your power of visualization to imagine what you want in the areas of relationship, creativity and finance is powerfully supported.

Vesta’s conjunction to Neptune in this configuration encourages you to visualize not just selfishly gratifying outcomes, but those which also serve a higher cause. (The highest forms of service are the most rewarding!)

Holding a more awakened consciousness while relating with others in the 3D world — again, optimally in the service of a higher cause – is also supported by this aspect pattern. This T-square begins on 4/13, peaks on 4/17 and ends on 4/21.

T-square: Mercury-Juno-Ceres

Focusing your mind on prosperity through partnership is a great way to use a Mercury-Juno-Ceres T-square. Mercury is in Taurus, the ruling sign of money. Juno represents committed partnership, while the grain goddess Ceres represents a bountiful harvest of abundance! This T-square begins on 4/14, peaks on 4/17 and ends on 4/20.

Aries New Moon

There’s a New Moon on 4/18 at 2:57 pm EDT. We’ve had a lot of cuspy lunations in recent months, in which I blended the meanings of two adjacent signs. This one’s at 28°25′ Aries. I believe this to be snugly enough within its own sign that I can interpret it simply as an Aries New Moon. (Whew!)

Both Aries and New Moons are about fresh starts or applying new energy to existing projects. You can apply this idea in any area of life. Or you can focus it into specifically Arean themes such as leadership, warriorship, sexuality and invention.

Aspects

A tight trine to Capricornian Pallas Athena makes it easier to embrace feminine assertiveness and strategic planning in doing business and meeting your goals. A loose square to Aquarian Ceres invites you to look at outside-the-box ways of generating income. And a very loose conjunction to Taurean Mercury invites a steady, methodical approach to thinking and communicating.

Sabian Symbol

This New Moon’s Sabian Symbol is, “The music of the spheres.” This is the celestial symphony inaudible to human ears, but whose indescribable beauty can be “heard” in higher states of consciousness.

“Heard” is in quotes because the music of the spheres is experienced with senses beyond those available in the physical world. “Felt” and “seen” also point in the right direction, but do not even begin to encompass the magnificence of the actual experience. Think of the pleasure you’ve experienced while listening to your favorite music and multiply it by a thousand!

If you’d like to experience the music of the spheres yourself, you can try the following invocation: “Spirit-that-I-am, please help me experience the music of the spheres to the greatest extent that serves highest good, starting now, thank you.” Then rest in passive breath awareness and allow the experience to come to you. (Here’s more information on how to work with my invocations.)

The Sun Enters Taurus on 4/20 at 5:42 AM EDT. For the next month, the star of our solar system radiates “Steady Eddie” productivity, persistence and resource acquisition. It also energizes sensuality, connecting with nature and “just being.”

Void-of-Course Moons

It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during these times. “Business as usual” is the best strategy for these periods, which occur when the Moon has made its last major Ptolemaic aspect but has not yet moved into the next sign.
