I love to read posts about how fellow bloggers found their style and I love to look at tours of their homes.  It is always fascinating to me to see how they put a room together and how they accessorize it.  Sometimes the interesting pieces are furniture and then sometimes it is all the accessories.  I thought it would be fun to do a series called

PULLING IT ALL TOGETHER

This is where we would do a breakdown of a room and talk about how we found the pieces we are using and how we put it all together to create a look that we love and feels like us.  I thought I would start this series with one of my favorite rooms.

Our Master Bedroom is one of my favorite rooms, but that is not the way it always was.

When we moved in I used all the left over odds and ends from our previous home.  The iron bed and skirted tables from the last house didn't work at all, so I wound up with this hodge podge for a couple of years.  This served it's purpose, but didn't at all reflect me or the style I wanted for this room.

All the changes started when I found this headboard at Hotel Liquidators for $75.  I knew it would be perfect for my transformation.

Some paint and distressing and this is how it turned out.  I love it.

Great lamps from Hobby Lobby that were half price at $39.99 each and a few seafoam and aqua accessories for DH side.  All the accessories came to just a little over $30 for the entire room.  I mostly shopped the house and repurposed things.

Paintings that were previously in the hall got moved in here and some new candles and a fern added to my side.

This was the look for a while.

Then I found this nightstand at Goodwill for $12.99 and refinished the top.  This is exactly what I was looking for, now to find a dresser.

A couple of months later I found this beauty at a used furn. store for $69.99 and refinished it to match the nightstand.  I love this piece, and the storage is fabulous.  Gorgeous detail on the old hardware.

Now it was looking like my vision.  I really like the new pieces and it reflects a much more elegant and put together style.

I brought in a chinese stool I found at Ross for $29.99.  Great place to place a favorite book or a cup of tea.

I changed out the drapes for something in a soft cream & camel color to match the walls.  This gives the room a more open feel.  The settee was in the den in my last house and I am thrilled it fits perfectly here.  Nice to have a place to sit and relax.

This side of the room across from the foot of the bed  has room for my favorite goodwill find ever.  A great french chair for $15.  The garden stool end table is a Ross find for $39.99 and the painting and accessories are things I've had for years.  The armoire is from our previous home, it holds the tv and has tons of storage for seasonal clothing.

This is today with a little touch of rusty orange added for fall and winter.  It is fun to swap out pillows and change the accessories, but all in all I love the room and it definitely reflects more of my style now.

With a few DIY projects, some thrift store shopping, plus shopping my house, I was able to transform this room for $352.94.  That's definitely what I would call a bargain.

Now I want to know how you PULLED IT ALL TOGETHER.  If you would like to showcase one of your rooms, send me an email at astrollthrulife@live.com
