i just spent thirty minutes thinking about cute little sulky jealous lexa instead of sleeping. go me.

when clarke finally sees bellamy again, it’s after the battle, after everything’s over. she’s getting patched up - a small cut on her leg that she didn’t even notice until lexa basically hauled her to the makeshift hospital and made her get it looked at - and suddenly she looks up and he’s there. covered in blood and dirt and sporting a nasty gash on his forehead, but he’s there and he’s alive.

she’s so pleased to see him that she brushes away the healer’s fingers, where they’re still cleaning her wound, and jumps up, running over to hug him tightly, and before she’s even thinking about it, she’s kissing him. it’s so quick, lips pressing together for a split second, and she doesn’t think anything of it - she just needs to make sure he’s alive in every way possible. she’d probably do the same with raven or even octavia were the situations the same.

she goes in for another hug, pulls back to look at him, only to see lexa watching them. and it’s amazing how she can switch between sulky and aiming death glares at the back of bellamy’s head, but somehow she manages it. bellamy gets called over then to have his wound looked at, and clarke heads towards lexa, somewhat warily, then says, “hey.”

lexa looks at her for a few seconds longer, then says, “you said you were not ready to be with anyone, and yet…”

and then clarke realises lexa’s jealous, and it shouldn’t be cute, but it kind of is. she reaches out to brush the back of lexa’s hand with her fingertips. “i’m not. nothing’s changed in the last day, lexa.”

lexa shoots another glare over at bellamy, and clarke squeezes lexa’s hand lightly. “but when i am, you’ll be the first to know, okay?” lexa nods, and clarke knows she gets it, even if she is prone to bouts of jealousy. and it’s enough, for now, that clarke can make that promise to lexa. even if she hopes one day she’ll be able to promise more.
