Sheung Shui, Hong Kong, December 24, 2015 – The Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China will organize the Cross Straits Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Competition 2016 at Po Wing Road Sports Center from January 1 to 3.

Supported by the North District Sports Association and subsidized by the Arts and Sports Development Fund of Home Affairs Department and Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the tournament has been organized since 2001 with aims of gathering volleyball elites from different provinces in Mainland China and Chinese Taipei to show off their talents and exchange skills.

Volleyball is also a platform to promote and encourage the cultural exchanges among athletes. The event has been a remarkable success through the years and it enables the advancement of the players’ techniques.

Also, players with advanced skills are likely to bring a great match for Hong Kong citizens and enhance public interests in this sport. It also notably fosters the development of volleyball in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China and Chinese Taipei.

This year, the competition is due to take place from January 1 to 3 at Po Wing Road Sports Centre, Sheung Shui, Hong Kong. Participating in the men’s event will be three teams from Macau, Guangdong and Chinese Taipei, with the other women’s sides coming from Zhejiang, Shanghai and Chinese Taipei.
