The Queensland College of Art (QCA) has been offering art and design programs since 1881, while remaining one of the most modern colleges offering the widest range of visual art programs in Australia. Academic opportunities
QCA students can choose from a variety of digital media, fine art, screen media and photography programs.
The Bachelor of Digital Media enables students to develop professional and creative skills for use in digital design, 3D design, photo media, studio art and graphic design. This multidisciplinary degree encourages QCA students to work across disciplines.
The Bachelor of Film and Screen Media Production teaches students how to work in a team while also gaining a thorough grounding in the history, practice and critical analysis of film.
Students may also choose to complete a one-year Honours program to develop their learning at a more advanced level.
The Griffith Film School
QCA’s Griffith Film School helps prepare students of film, animation and game design for creative and exciting career opportunities within the international business of film, television and digital screen media creation.
Visits from industry practitioners and academics, fellows and tutors within the disciplines of drama, documentary, animation, games and interactive entertainment, mean that students can gain insights into the requirements of the film and television industry.
QCA Gold Coast
Students at QCA Gold Coast can access cutting-edge digital design tools, and make the most of the fine art studios and gallery space on offer. Students also have the opportunity to work on The Argus, QCA’s online magazine that is produced by current students. Those wishing to study creative elective majors as part of their degree program can choose study areas from schools such as Engineering and Architecture.
