I’m one of those girls who can re-create any makeup look, whip up a cute outfit in a snap, and give my friend a makeover in minutes, but I am clueless when it comes to styling my hair. For years, I only wore my hair straightened to death or in a bun for ballet class because I honestly didn’t know what else to do with it! Two years ago, I made a New Year’s resolution to learn a few new hairstyles, and I’ve been working on my techniques ever since. While I haven’t mastered hair styling, I’ve learned how to do a few things really well including how to blow dry my hair, curl my hair, and create an easy updo. Perfecting these three hair styling techniques will give you great hair everyday, and it is a lot easier than you’d think! It’s all about using the right products and the right tools. Keep reading to see how to style your hair in minutes!
Creating the perfect hair style requires high-quality tools. Your hairstylist at the salon uses state of the art hair tools, and thankfully I’ve found a blow dryer sold at the drugstore that produces salon-quality results for a fraction of the price. On days when I plan to curl my hair or create an updo, I do a quick, low-maintenance blow dry. After washing my hair, I allow it to air dry until its about 75% dry. Then I’ll run a brush through my hair to remove and tangles, and I’ll blow dry my hair on the medium heat setting with my head flipped over until it’s completely dry. After blow drying my hair, I almost always curl my hair. I live in Florida where the humidity levels are out of control, so my hair just won’t stay straight for long. 1. Section off hair into at least two sections.
2. Take a 1″ piece of hair and place it into the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret®.
3. Clamp the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® shut, and it will automatically curl your hair for the perfect amount of time and with the perfect amount of heat. For reference, I like to use the medium heat setting for 8 beeps for bouncy curls. After the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® has finished beeping, simply release your hair and stare at your beautiful little curl.
4. To create natural, bouncy curls, brush your hair with the Conair Velvet Paddle Brush.
And voila! You now have beautiful curls with amazing staying power!
Once your hair is completely curled, it’s easy to create a beautiful, everyday look with minimal effort. Simply part your hair as desired, twist a small piece of hair, and use a Conair bobby pin to secure it to the side of your head. Repeat on the other side to finish the look.

Now that you’ve mastered basic curls, let’s move on to an easy updated ponytail that’s perfect for holiday parties. This look is so easy to create, and it’s perfect for second or third day hair.
Step 1: Create a deep side part.
Step 2: Take a small piece of hair from one side of your head and twist all the way down. Secure this piece with a small clear elastic or Conair bobby pin.
Step 3: Bring your hair to the opposite side of your head and secure in a low side ponytail.
Step 4: Use your fingers to create a whole at the base of the ponytail above the elastic.
Step 5: Use your fingers to push the ponytail through the hole you just created and pull it all the way through.
Step 6: Take a small piece of your hair from below the base of the ponytail and wrap it around the hair elastic.
This hairstyle is soft and pretty, and it only takes two minutes from start to finish! It’s perfect for days at the office, lunch with friends, or a fancy holiday party.
And now you’re officially a hair styling master, or at least pretty close to it! Once you have the right tools in your beauty arsenal and a few go-to hairstyles, you’ll be able to have great hair everyday.
