Some of these apps may not cover all cities so go through the listing before downloading the app on your phone and Bon Appétit.
Zomato
Zomato is probably the most popular restaurant listing website and that extends to the mobile platform where it is one of the most downloaded eating out app. The app gives restaurants recommendations to thousands of restaurants in India and also allows users to check ratings and reviews of the restaurants. Using your current location in can suggest restaurants and it has one of the largest databases of menus. The app also allows you to search by dish.

Foodpanda
Though Foodpanda is not technically an eating out app, it needed to be listed here because it provides one of the easiest ways to order home delivery and take away of food from a restaurant. It currently has over 1300 restaurants listed including some very popular ones across various cuisines. On opening the app it would suggest places that deliver in your area and one can filter by cuisine. It also provides cash on delivery options. Foodpanda also has some special offers and even offers free movie tickets on ordering using the app.

Just Eat
This app also allows you to order food if your just hungry or too lazy to cook. It allows you to locate restaurants near you, view their menus and place your orders online for home delivery. The app claims to have over 2,500 restaurants serving more than 52 cuisines and over 2.5 lakh dishes listed, so there is something for everyone. One can chose to pay by cash or card. Users can also book a table directly from the app.

The bookyourtable app for Android lets you make a table reservation at around 20,000 restaurants and one can avail various discount counts and deals with the app. You can also view their latest offerings and order food from the app. The listings can be filtered by location/distance, cuisine, average price and rating. It has got one of the largest numbers of cities listed.

If you check in to a restaurant it will list out all the offers, discounts and events going on in that restaurant or bar, so one never misses out. The app claims to have over 2000 offers for each city. The app will soon get a feature where users can search for offers near them.

Apart from listing out movies and events in a city, the Timescity App also showcased Food & Nightlife present in a city. It provides information on food festivals as well as gives reviews from critics and other users of the app and website. One can also get directions to a restaurant from within the app or share details with friends easily. The listings can be filtered by ratings, distance, price etc.

The Burrp app helps users to discover restaurants, cafés, bars, and other cool hangouts based on your location. It allows you to browse menus, photos, ratings and user reviews as well as allowing you to post photos and reviews from the app itself.

This is a very basic app which does not provide as much functionality as the other apps listed above, but it provides a quick and easy way to locate restaurants near you. It lists the type of cuisine as well as the distance from your current location. The listings for this app seem to be provided by Zomato and also displays reviews, average cost for two as well as other details.

Happy Hours India
This app tries to take a slightly different approach from the other apps listed here. Happy Hours India is an app which lists out buffets across restaurants and happy hours across bars. The listings are powered by www.fnbcity.com. One thing we were not pleased with this app was the user interface. One can also choose the type of buffet based on time of day like breakfast, lunch or dinner. One can sort out the listings based on the area you are in at present. It also tells you which days the bar has happy hours and the deal offered.
