Pinterest users in India can now access their accounts in Hindi.

The visual discovery platform has announced the addition of ‘Hindi’ to the list of over 24 languages in which the portal can be accessed, increasing its focus on discovery through local language.

The language change can be changed via a user’s ‘settings’ manual.

While most of the language customisation extends to the Pinterest’s interface, it does not extend to the pins by itself.

Among companies focussing on local language support in India is Google who had most recently extended Hindi handwriting support to search, translate and Chrome. E-commerce site Snapdeal too caters to both Hindi and Tamil literate folks. In 2011, Twitter extended support to Hindi.
