Grant Thornton is seeking a Sr. Associate to join its Alexandria Financial Management Advisory and Assurance practice area and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional and cutting-edge instructional system designing approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Sr. Associate will utilize various instructional system designing methodologies and models to execute client projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Support client in the performance of accounting functions through the application of GAAP across the posting, analysis, reconciliation, and validation of all financial data, which may include; processing accounting journal vouchers, reconciling transaction ledgers to general ledger identifying and resolving processing errors and reconciling items.
* Provide end to end support to property acquisition, depreciation & amortization, and disposition.
* Responsible for the production of annual financial reports and quarterly statements and budget execution reports.
* Accountants may also provide support to management control programs, compliance with OMB A-123, assurance validation, improper payments, audit liaison, and remediation functions.
* TS/SCI clearance required.

* 10 years’ experience required.
* Four year degree in accounting, or similar, experience support large government organization, proficient in Microsoft suite, knowledge of DoD, ODNI, OMB, GAAP, and accounting laws and regulations.
* Desired: Knowledge of FACTS/people soft accounting system
* U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
* Travel may be required.
* Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
* Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
* Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
* Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
* Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
