Position Overview/Description:
We are seeking students with CAD skills who are currently pursuing a 4 year Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree. This Co-op role is intended to supplement the student’s educational process through hands on job experience. This person will author CAD Class A surface design following approved Ford Surface CAD procedures.
This position will be performed in our Dearborn, MI offices. The individual will work approximately 20 hours per week, around their current school schedule. There is an ability to work increased hours during the summer and/or during times of school break.
Responsibilities:
+ Author 3D CAD Class A surface data with quality and speed in support of program gateways and / or for assigned project(s)
+ Follow approved Ford Surface CAD procedures, Engineering feasibility requirements and Studio design intent (from scan cloud data through Class A surface release)
+ Support CAD and digital surface reviews as required by Supervisor or Mentor.
+ Keep management informed of program and / or assignment(s) progress, open issues and resolution status
+ Support weekly status reporting cadence of Program Surface Metrics utilizing Ford Surface Health Tracking tools
+ Able to work an average of 20 hours / week, with flexibility to accommodate educational needs; potential for increased hours during spring and summer semesters or as arranged with Supervisor

Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ Currently pursuing a 4 year degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
+ 1 course passed in one of the following programs in one of the following tools: ICEM Surf, Alias Auto Studio, or Catia, ICEM Surf ISD software
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Show creative artistic skills, with ability to understand Design language and have a passion for automotive design
+ Knowledge of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, SharePoint)
+ Good communication skills, collaborative behavior for daily interaction with Design Studio Team, Engineering, Manufacturing and other interfacing activities
