RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT Supervisors are responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks within an organization or between organizations and liaison with vendors to complete projects. Their goal is to ensure the smooth operation of all systems in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users, such as staff, clients, customers and suppliers. Their scope of work covers networking, servers, storage, firewalls, virtual infrastructure, databases and both off the shelf as well as custom software applications.
Installing, supporting and maintaining new server hardware and software infrastructure;
* Managing email, anti-spam and virus protection.
* Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords across all ACL's we manage.
* Monitor network usage.
* Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers.
* Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems.
* Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards.
* Analyzing and resolving faults, ranging from a major system crash to a forgotten password.
* Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet.
* Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence.
* Working closely with other departments /organizations and collaborating with other IT staff.
* Planning and implementing future IT developments and undertaking project work.
* Managing the website and keeping internal networks running.
* Coordinate internal and external resources effectively to solve issues.
* Proactively suggest improvements to entire system.
* Manage teams to get larger projects accomplished.
* Supervising other staff, such as help-desk technicians, vendors and outside partners.
* Being an important part of the Fisker Automotive team who proactively solves issues.
* Stay current with new technologies.
* Constantly learn to become a complete IT professional with proficiencies in all aspects of IT.
* Monitoring and upgrading communications systems like Exchange.
* Monitoring and upgrading the storage systems.
* Monitoring and upgrading the virtualized infrastructure.
* Programming the Layer 3 switches and firewalls.
* Maintaining the unified computing system. (UCS)
* Maintaining the Linux computing cluster.
* Maintaining the software configuration applications.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent job experience. Other degrees considered upon experience.
* Preferred 6 years prior Information Technology experience required
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Maintains strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
* Solid understanding of business practices with fundamental understanding of project management methodology
* Requires excellent hands on IT skills and knowledge
* Able to plan and manage projects.
* Be proactive in suggesting upgrades / efficiencies to help out the enterprise.

* Hitachi Storage Experience preferred
* UCS experience preferred
* VMware experience preferred
* Juniper experience preferred
