Job Description & Qualifications This technical position will offer an experienced or entry level engineer the opportunity to apply his/her knowledge and business acumen in a role that is shaping the future of hybrid and all electric vehicle power trains. As a high voltage components design and release engineer, you will work with high voltage (HV) battery and other HV component and HV wiring team members to deliver Quality, Cost, Weight and Functional requirements for HV connectors, in order to meet vehicle program milestones.
The Ford Electrified Power train Engineering team is a growing team committed to envisioning and creating high voltage vehicle technology that inspires our team and customers to go further.
Lead core design and release activities for electrified vehicle high voltage connectors.
Responsibilities:
* Design high voltage components to meet cross vehicle program requirements, including global programs
* Perform bench marking to understand competitive practices and ensure best possible design
* Understand unique electrified vehicle requirements
* Conduct Design Reviews
* Lead sourcing and on-going supplier communications
* Support target setting process
* Author Engineering Documents, including design rules, component specifications and testing methods
* Responsible for all design verification testing plans and execution
* Responsible for identifying and maintaining current state of design (QCWF)Quality, Cost, Weight, Functional Targets/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
* 2 + years design & release engineering experience; entry level applicants will be considered
* 2 + years in the automotive industry
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous electric vehicle and/or EDS/wiring design
* Metallurgical/Materials
* Manufacturing
* Adept at working across organizational boundaries to accomplish tasks
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
* Team player with good collaborative problem-solving skills
* Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently
* Proven oral and written communication skills
* Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
