**About the General Motors Enterprise Data Warehouse \(EDW\) team:**
GM has recently announced numerous steps to strengthen its position as a global automotive leader\. GM is constructing an Enterprise Data Warehouse \(EDW\) as one of the corner stones to achieve this objective\. As a member of the EDW team you will play a significant role in helping GM implement one of the largest data warehouses in the world\. GM is seeking dynamic individuals who will leverage their industry knowledge and experiences to design, architect, deploy, and manage this data warehouse\.
**About the role:**
The EDW Quality Assurance Test Lead is a technical position with responsibility for leading the planning, execution, and release of all test activities during multiple, parallel EDW project/platform engagements\. Responsible for creation of key deliverables including test plans \(Integration, Functional, Performance, Automation, Security, and Regression testing\), detailed test cases and defects using industry standard test management tools, and test sign off artifacts\.
The role will work closely with the business and IT groups to design and execute a test strategy that provides for the loading of data into the EDW, data integration, quality management, aggregation, and business intelligence to various platforms using advanced technologies\.
A key responsibility for the role will be to work with other EDW roles such as Business Analysts, Data Architects, Data Modelers, ETL Developers, Enterprise Architects, BI Developers, Project Managers, Platform Architects, Release Managers, Operations and Support, DBAs, to continually communicate and ensure the quality of production launches\.
The EDW Quality Assurance Test Lead must be capable of working in a collaborative, multi\-site environment to support rapid development and delivery of results and capabilities \(i\.e\. AGILE SDLC\)\.
The EDW Quality Assurance Test Lead must be capable of taking responsibility for complete testing of all their individually assigned tasks as well as mentoring, training, coaching, and overseeing all test activities for junior test analysts\. They must ensure proper documentation, processes, metrics, and communication of all test activities in an effort to continuously improve quality within the EDW\.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
\- 4 Year IT College Degree/Masters preferred or equivalent work experience
\- 5\-10 years in large scale data warehouse with data integration implementations
\- Full lifecycle project and/or platform development/testing using standard frameworks and repeatable best practices
\- Experience working with data tools and technologies: data modeling, ETL tools, metadata management tools, master data management tools, database technologies and design, business intelligence and enterprise reporting
\- Collaborates with key stakeholders including infrastructure engineers, business analysts, development teams, project managers, and where applicable, management, to report test progress and escalate issues requiring attention
\- Experience writing and executing detailed test plans including Integration, Functional, Performance, Automation, Security, and Regression testing
\- Experience writing and executing detailed test cases and defects covering full requirements traceability
\- Experience maintaining testing standards and laser\-focus on continual test improvements minimizing production defects and protecting the production environment
\- Experience with establishing and analyzing metrics and recommending new tools and processes to ensure quality
\- Proactively engages in the remediation of test and software issues related to code quality, security, and/or pattern/frameworks\.
\- Experience providing guidance and coaching to junior test analysts
\- Experience overseeing/statusing all test activities of junior test analysts
\- Experience automating testing processes including automated regression testing
\- Strong organization skills, communication, and drive for results
**Preferred Qualifications:**
\- A master’s degree in a technical discipline
\- Development and/or usage of various test automation solutions
\- Experience with HP ALM/QTP or equivalent test management tools
\- Coding, unit testing and debugging applications in various software languages
\- Demonstrable experience using Data Integration platforms, tools and techniques
\- Experience using Oracle GoldenGate, IBM DataMirror, heterogeneous data replication techniques
\- Experience with industry leading large scale database platforms \(i\.e\. Hadoop,Teradata, IBM DB2, IBM BigInsights, HP Neoview, HP Vertica, HP Autonomy,Greenplum, Oracle ExaData, SAS\)
\- Experience with open source technologies \(i\.e\. Hadoop, Pig, Hive, JAQL,HCatalog, JSON\)
\- Interaction with end user query developers to design and improve data basequeries
