Position Sumary:
Ensures the effective operations of the Compensation & HRIS departments and provides leadership and oversight for compensation practices, policies, procedures, programs and systems.

Responsibilities:
1. Develops key compensation & HRIS operating objectives and deploys action plans and strategies throughout the department and institution to achieve these objectives.

2. Ensures the effective day-to-day operations of the Compensation & HRIS Department. Establishes departmental policies and procedures and ensures compliance. Provides for the administration of wage and salary policies and practices, ensuring best practice.

3. Communicates DH's compensation philosophy and practices to individuals, groups, and entire departments on an on-going basis. Provides for an environment of transparency in the compensation arena throughout DH thereby fostering open lines of communication and ideas.

4. Develops, tracks, and reviews the departmental operating budget with the Chief Human Resources Officer.

5. Co-chairs the Pay Practices Workgroup. Acts as an institutional resource to answer/interpret compensation policy questions.

6. Ensures that DH's compensation structure, pay grades, and pay practices are in accordance with both Federal and State regulations.

7. Assumes responsibility for physician and executive compensation policies, pay practices, and compensation structure.

8. Develops and prepares DH's annual wage package for Board approval. Works closely with HRIS staff to implement annual increases and other off-cycle pay adjustments for all locations for physicians and staff.

9. Creates an engaged workforce by ensuring individual goal setting, empowerment, and initiative in all departmental personnel and by ensuring effective information flow and two-way communications. Works to ensure employee development opportunities to motivate high potential employees.

10.Provides departmental personnel with regular performance feedback, complete employee reviews in a timely manner, and ensures all yearly performance evaluations are thoughtfully written and provide clear feedback for performance improvement.

11.Conducts regular and systematic review of compensation practices and policies, soliciting input from others. Makes changes or look for recommendations by the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Minimum Qualifications:
ü Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, with 10 years of experience in progressively responsible compensation positions or the equivalent in education and experience required.

ü Master's degree preferred.

ü Excellent communication skills required.

ü Healthcare compensation experience preferred.
