# Description
We are currently seeking an AV Commissioning Engineer to join the team as a member of our growing Electrical Data division\.

Established in 1960, McKinstry is a full\-service design, build, operate and maintain \(DBOM\) firm with over 1,600 employees\. McKinstry’s professional staff and trades people deliver consulting, construction, energy, and facility services\. As an early adopter of the DBOM process, the company advocates collaborative and sustainable solutions that are designed to ensure occupant comfort, improve systems efficiency, reduce facility operational costs, and ultimately optimize client profitability for the life of their building\. While we are well known for our expertise in design build delivery, our full service offerings of mechanical, electrical, data and plumbing have been the hallmark of our success\.
This person will be responsible for:
Systems Analysis
+ Provide recommendations and feedback regarding the design, equipment selection, test and balance requirements, maintainability, and potential enhancements of the system\.
+ Assess the capability of system\(s\) and documentation to achieve the design intent\.
+ Understand the design concept and intent by reviewing system construction documentation, including drawings and scheduled equipment\.
+ Review documentation for compliance with McKinstry design standards, industry best practices, commissioning standards, and project specifications \(if applicable\)\.
Project Support
+ Develop project specific commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules\.
+ Perform onsite commissioning of systems including updating firmware on devices, configure devices onto IP network, load custom code, make changes to or create new audio programming files, make changes to wiring/pinouts as necessary\.
+ Conduct commissioning coordination meetings as needed with owner, project management, and contractor commissioning team as defined in the commissioning plan\.
+ Maintain, track and operate test equipment\.
+ Provide technical support to installation teams\.
+ Develop a project specific training agenda and manage the systems training of assigned McKinstry Service personnel and/or owners representatives\.
+ Maintain complete and legible commissioning documentation to be used in the commissioning report\.
+ Contribute \(on behalf of the owner\) to the efficient and effective resolution of deficiencies and construction related issues \(RFI, ASI etc\.\)
+ Represent McKinstry at project specific commissioning coordination meetings\.
+ Compile project documentation and transmit to business and brand services for report publication\.
Systems Verification
+ Verify the system installation and functional performance are per McKinstry standards, industry best practices, and the contract documents
+ Verify the system operations, including establishing acceptance criteria, obtaining completed reports from the installation team, and direct performing testing and verification\.
+ Review system as\-built documentation for accuracy and completeness\.
+ Communicate noted commissioning issues, questions and concerns through proper channels in a timely manner\.
+ Work with commissioning manager to schedule required equipment calibrations\.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES
+ Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Technician\.
+ High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience required\.
+ Working knowledge of Audio / Visual systems required\.
+ Three \(3\) years of experience operating Audio / Visual test equipment required including SPL meter, fiber/copper network certifier, multi\-meter, pattern generators\.
+ Audio Certification such as Sound Reinforcement For Technicians by SynAudCon and industry certifications such as Infocomm CTS\-I required\.
+ Audio DSP certifications in Biamp Audia, Biamp Tesira, Polycom SoundStructure, ClearOne Converge, BSS London, Symetrix SymNet, preferred\.
+ OEM certifications from Extron, Crestron, and AMX preferred\.
+ Working knowledge of networking including IP addressing & subnets, router setup, port forwarding, network scanning, ping/tracert, VLAN, QoS, VoIP/SIP, Standard VTC Protocols, Lync/Skype, Audio network protocols \(Dante, AVB\) required\.
+ Ability to read and understand construction documents \(mechanical drawings, specifications, etc\.\) required\.
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite \- Word, Excel, and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred\.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
+ Ability and willingness to travel\.
+ Physical ability to walk jobsites in uneven terrain\.
+ Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed\.
