We are currently seeking a Energy Engineer to join the team as a member of our growing Energy division in Salt Lake City\.

Established in 1960, McKinstry is a full\-service design, build, operate and maintain \(DBOM\) firm with over 1,600 employees\. McKinstry’s professional staff and trades people deliver consulting, construction, energy, and facility services\. As an early adopter of the DBOM process, the company advocates collaborative and sustainable solutions that are designed to ensure occupant comfort, improve systems efficiency, reduce facility operational costs, and ultimately optimize client profitability for the life of their building\. While we are well known for our expertise in design build delivery, our full service offerings of mechanical, electrical, data and plumbing have been the hallmark of our success\.

This person will be responsible for:

Analysis

+ Quantifies facility improvement measures including electrical, mechanical, control, water, wastewater, envelope, solid waste, irrigation, and lighting systems\.
+ Performs calculations using modeling software, spreadsheets and utility calculation tools\.
+ Performs schematic design for building mechanical and lighting systems including drawings and layout and written design narratives\.
+ Develops Key Performance Indicators for projects\.

Project Management

+ Coordinate facility site visits and communicate with outside vendors\.
+ Coordinate with Design team to measure feasibility, basis of design and scope of work development\.
+ Provide technical assistance to the sales team in developing overall projects in a strategic manner\.
+ Facilitate and structure Project Risk Reviews for Energy Calculations prior to presenting ROM or Final savings\.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES

+ Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Building Energy Analyst\.
+ Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite \- Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred\.
+ Demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Building Energy Analyst/Auditor required\.
+ Understanding of Energy Services Performance Contracting required\.
+ Industry calculation methods including degree\-day method, bin method, hourly simulation, lighting, affinity laws, and electrical load and power calculations required\.
+ Previous Energy Auditor, Commissioning, HVAC design or building controls experience preferred\.
+ 2 \(two\) years of mechanical or electrical design experience preferred\.
+ CEM, PE, LEED, CPM professional designations preferred\.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

+ Ability and willingness to travel regionally\.
+ Physical ability to navigate jobsites in uneven terrain\.
+ Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed\.
