Asavie’s IOT connectivity platform underpins the Industrial Internet Consortium approved INFINITE testbed enabling firms to validate connectivity networks for their IoT projects
Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain – February 22, 2016: Asavie, the provider of next generation enterprise mobility management and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity solutions, announced today that its Asavie PassBridge™ IoT Connectivity Platform, underpins the INFINITE IoT innovation platform testbed led by EMC and Vodafone Ireland. Asavie PassBridge™ delivers the underlying connectivity platform for the INFINITE testbed enabling companies to road-test their machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT projects across mobile cellular networks prior to scaling into production.
Established by EMC, in partnership with Vodafone, the INFINITE testbed plays a key role in enabling innovation, insights and business opportunities for Industrial IoT developments across a wide range of industries in Europe. Asavie also announced they are now a member of the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), the organization that catalyzes and coordinates the priorities of enabling technologies of the Industrial Internet. INFINITE is the first large-scale IIC-approved industrial IoT innovation platform in Europe.
Asavie PassBridge™ is an IoT platform that aggregates connectivity from devices across multiple diverse networks into one single network, managing and securing the data as it flows across this network to companies’ internal systems. With Asavie PassBridge™ enterprises can deploy and scale their M2M projects by securely managing their connection to the internet, as well as interconnecting these devices to capture useful insights and ultimately build valuable IoT solutions.
Welcoming Asavie’s role, Mr. Donagh Buckley, CTO Ireland CoE & Director Research Europe, EMC said, “Asavie is fulfilling an important role in the industrial IoT community through their involvement with INFINITE. INFINITE is proving to be a valuable Industrial Internet testbed for a growing number of industries including Smart Cities and healthcare. As the need for more dynamic systems continues to grow, organizations are utilizing mobile networks to connect to virtual systems. Asavie PassBridge™ technology enables companies prove the viability of doing all this in a secure and scalable manner.”
Speaking at the announcement, Ralph Shaw, CEO, Asavie, said, “we look forward to contributing to the advancement of innovation around the IoT through our involvement with both INFINITE and the Industrial Internet Consortium. By partnering with INFINITE we are able to demonstrate to both large and small companies the potential of the IoT to generate increased cost efficiencies in their existing business processes, as well as driving new revenues and business channels.”
Dr. Richard Soley, Executive Director of the Industrial Internet Consortium, welcoming Asavie’s announcement said, “We welcome Asavie as an innovative new member to the Industrial internet Consortium. Their involvement with INFINITE is a great example of how an IoT connectivity platform represents a critical element of the infrastructure necessary to enable reliable and trustworthy solutions for the hyper-connected industries, characteristic of the industrial Internet of Things.

About INFINITE
INFINITE uses Big Data to not only create completely virtual domains with Software-Defined Networking, but also makes it possible for multiple virtual domains to securely run via one physical network – thus making it ideal for use in mission critical systems. Even more interesting, INFINITE makes it possible to connect to these virtual domains through mobile networks. The testbed was approved earlier this year by the world-renowned Industrial Internet Consortium and will demonstrate Industrial IoT use cases. INFINITE will support Irish businesses with IOT innovation by enabling organizations to understand the key technical requirements for building products and services, understanding emerging business models and establishing close working relationships with key participants in the IoT sector. IoT refers to advanced connectivity of devices systems and services that collect useful data and then autonomously flow the data between other devices.
