Wilfried Wang and Barbara Hoidn are the founders of the Berlin based practice, Hoidn Wang Partners. Wang also serves as the O’Neil Ford Centennial Professor in Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin. Born in Hamburg, Wang studied architecture in London and served as a partner with John Southall in SW Architects. He is a founding co-editor with Nader Tehrani of 9H Magazine; and was the director of the German Architecture Museum from 1995 – 2000. Wang has also taught at the Polytechnic of North London, the University College London, ETH Zürich, Städelschule, Harvard University, and the Universidad de Navarra.
Wang is the author and editor of various architectural books and publications, and is the co-editor of the O’Neil Ford Monograph Series. He serves as the Chairman of the Erich Schelling Architecture Foundation; is an adjunct member of the Federation of German Architects; a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, Stockholm; and a member and Deputy Director of the Architecture section of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. Wang holds an honorary Doctorate from the Royal Technical University of Stockholm and is an honorary member of the Portuguese Chamber of Architects.

Lecture attendees are encouraged to also attend a discussion on “Forever Changed: The Kennedy Assassination and Dallas Architecture” which will also be held at the Magnolia Theatre at 6 pm that evening. Attendees can then join the reception hosted by the Forum and attend the 7:30 pm Forum lecture. The Kennedy discussion will be presented by our colleagues at the Dallas Center for Architecture.
Forum members may receive free admission to the Kennedy panel discussion, and as always, receive free admission to the lecture. Check in with the Forum volunteers beginning at 5:45 pm before the 6 pm Panel. Those attending the panel discussion who are not Forum members may also attend the Wilfried Wang Forum lecture on a complimentary basis.

Teddy Cruz’s work is focused on the border between San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico, where he has been developing a practice and pedagogy that emerges out of the particularities of this bicultural territory and the integration of theoretical research and design production. Teddy Cruz has been recognized internationally in collaboration with community-based nonprofit organizations such as Casa Familiar for its work on housing and its relationship to an urban policy more inclusive of social and cultural programs for the city. He obtained a Masters in Design Studies from Harvard University and the Rome Prize in Architecture from the American Academy in Rome. He has received the James Stirling Prize and is currently a Professor in public culture and urbanism in the Visual Arts Department at UCSD in San Diego.
