You don't normally think of the Swiss as wild and wacky people, but when it comes to cars, they just can't help expressing themselves. There's Sbarro, who made weird and wonderful things like the Challenge. And more recently, Rinspeed, the company behind the sQuba—part Lotus Elise, part submarine. Rinspeed has just previewed its latest concept, the Ʃtos, which we'll all get to see properly at CES in January.

The Ʃtos is Rinspeed's take on the autonomous car. Details are few right now, but we know it's going to be a hybrid sports car that can—if the driver wants—drive itself. And to help it do that, the Ʃtos comes with its own drone. The company helpfully suggests this could deliver bouquets of flowers that the driver had ordered online, as well as the more plausible sounding idea of filming oneself on one's favorite road.

In autonomous mode, the car's steering wheel retracts and the screens on the dash move closer to the occupants for added drama.
