Good morning! Here is your Kansas City Chiefs news. Happy Wednesday!

National School Breakfast Week from The Mothership

The Chiefs and the Midwest Dairy Council bring the school-wellness program, Fuel Up to Play 60, to many elementary and middle schools around the Kansas City area. This week they are in the midst of celebrating National School Breakfast Week, which focuses on the importance of healthy breakfast before school as a vital part of success in the classroom.

Free Agency Outlook: DE Michael Bennett from The Mothership

The crazy time of year that is free agency begins on March 11 and until then, we'll take a look at one unrestricted free agent per day, who could be making an impact with a different team next season. None of the reports are indicative of the Chiefs plans for 2014.

Chiefs Weekly from The Mothership

This week, Kansas City hosted the 101 Awards where Head Coach Andy Reid, RB Jamaal Charles and CB Marcus Cooper were honored.

Also this week, Chiefs Insider, Reid Ferrin, discussed a few of the free agents, including WR Eric Decker, SS T.J. Ward, and FS Jairus Byrd.

Plus, the Chiefs Community Caring Team, including Marcus Cooper and Josh Martin, visited local schools for Read Across America Day.

Now let's see what's happening on social media this week.

Two-Way Athlete: Marcus Cooper Gives, Receives At Bloomfield from The Hartford Courant

Wednesday is "Marcus Cooper Day" at Bloomfield High School, and Cooper will have a message for students only six, seven years younger than he is.

"I'm going to look back at my personal experiences." Cooper said Tuesday. "I'm going to talk about persevering through whatever trials you face. There are things I had to overcome, and fighting through those moments allowed me to be where I am today."

"I'm really honored by this. I'm excited to be back home, excited to be back at the school and in the community."

Cap Update: Chiefs Have $9 Million To Spend from ESPN

Combined with their salary-cap credit of $2,381,518, the Chiefs have $9,626,444 to spend. Twenty-four of the NFL's other 31 teams have more salary-cap room than the Chiefs.

McGrath's Beard Is Gone, But Fear Not, Chiefs Fans: Next Season's Will Be Even Bigger from FS Kansas City

"But it'll be back, though. It's kind of been my trademark. The fans love it. I'm going gung-ho."

The Chicago native says he usually undergoes an offseason trim, just to change things up. One time, he tried a set of Wolverine-like muttonchops. Another time, it was a Rollie Fingers-style handlebar mustache.

"A lot of people (were), I don't want to say 'devastated,' but it was kind of distraught," McGrath says, chuckling again. "They didn't like it. But it's a process."

Free Agent Report: LB Frank Zombo from ESPN

What should happen: If the Chiefs can find a better alternative at a reasonable price, they should do it. But that shouldn't be a priority and if it doesn't happen, they should make an effort to re-sign Zombo then.

High School Football: Ex-NFL Star Rison To Coach Rincon/University Football from The Arizona Daily Star

Cota-Robles said he was surprised to see Rison's name among the applicants for the coaching vacancy. He wondered at first if it was actually the same person that amassed 10,205 receiving yards, caught 84 touchdown passes and won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 1996. Rison also played for the Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders.

Rison previously coached at Flint (Mich.) Northwestern High School. His son, Hunter, lives in Chandler and played on Basha High School's varsity team as a freshman in 2013.

Dropping The PAT Would Affect Scoring Leaders from The Pro Football Hall Of Fame

If this rule was put into place, how would it impact the yearly scoring leaders and/or the all-time scoring output? New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski, who was the 2013 scoring champion with 158 points, would not have claimed the scoring title under the suggested scoring format. He would have finished in a tie for second place with 114 points. Under the new scoring system, Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles (who finished 18th in scoring) would have won the league title with his 19 touchdowns totaling an adjusted 133 points.

Jaguars Release Starting Guard Uche Nwaneri from FOX Sports

Meester retired at the end of the season after 14 years with the Jaguars, and multiple reports have suggested they will actively pursue Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack beginning next week. The departure of Nwaneri increases the likelihood of general manager Dave Caldwell going after Geoff Schwartz or Jon Asamoah, both of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Browns designated Mack on Monday as their transition player, meaning if the Jaguars should sign the Pro Bowl center, Cleveland will have five days to match the offer.

Free-Agent Report: OL Geoff Schwartz from ESPN

What should happen: The Chiefs shouldn't be in the business of setting their top offensive linemen free. They will probably lose left tackle Branden Albert to free agency, and if they lose Schwartz as well, they'll watch arguably their two best offensive linemen from last season walk out the door. That's no way to build a powerful offense or a championship team. The Chiefs need to find a way to re-sign Schwartz.

2014 NFL Free Agency Primer: O-Line from Sports Illustrated

2. Branden Albert

A member of the quite fictional Marshawn Lynch Club for Players Who Are Younger Than You Think. Still just 29, Albert already has one foot out the door in Kansas City - remember that last offseason, the Chiefs used the franchise tag on Albert ahead of drafting Eric Fisher, reportedly in hopes of trading the former. Those plans backfired (to the Chiefs' benefit) and Albert held down the LT fort for 12 regular-season games plus the playoff loss in Indianapolis. Albert has played all 16 games in a regular season just once in his six-year career.

2014 NFL Mock Draft: Browns Deal Into No. 2 for Blake Bortles from CBS Sports

23. Kansas City Chiefs -- LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr.: This is the first time I've put Beckham in the first round, but after interviewing him this week and hearing SEC defensive players tell me he was the best they faced, it was time.

Eagles Release Jason Avant from ProFootballTalk

Avant had 38 catches for 447 yards and those character traits will likely help him get a look elsewhere at a price more in line with his on-field contributions. Avant played many years in Philly for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg and both of those teams are expected to wade into the receiver market at some point this offseason.
