Chiefs Mourn The Passing Of Former Equipment Manager, Bobby Yarborough from The Mothership

"Our family and the Chiefs organization are saddened by the passing of Bobby Yarborough," Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said.

"Bobby was a loyal, hardworking member of the Kansas City Chiefs franchise and served as the team's equipment manager for more than two decades. Bobby was with the franchise in the beginning, starting with the Dallas Texans in 1960, before making the move to Kansas City in 1963. Both my brother, Lamar Jr., and I had the pleasure of working directly for Bobby during our high school years as ball boys on his staff for Chiefs Training Camp at William Jewell College. He made many contributions to the organization over his tenure and his efforts will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time."

Classic Minnesota Vikings Video: Watch Their First Super Bowl from The Pioneer Press

It was Super Bowl IV, and it's back on YouTube in all of its black and white splendor.

When you think of Super Bowl IV, several images immediately leap to mind: a miked-up Hank Stram calling the "65 Toss Power Trap," a battered Joe Kapp crumbling into the mud, a streaking Otis Taylor faking Earsell Mackbee out of his jock en route to the game-clinching touchdown.

Well, that's all part of this CBS broadcast, which was preserved from a Canadian television simulcast.

McNabb Thinks Cassel Can Fit In Reid's System from KC Star

"But if you go back to his injuries, he has rib injuries, his throwing hand, two concussions in the last couple of years. His record since 2009 hasn't been that great...One thing you look at Matt Cassel, is this an opportunity to utilize his experience to bring up a young quarterback?

"In this draft, there aren't any quarterbacks that are worthy of going as early as that No. 1 pick. So if you decide to go and wait for the second or third round, you can utilize Matt Cassel to be your guy to warm things up to give that young guy an opportunity to get ready."

Chiefs Add Three Backups To Roster from KC Star

The new administration of the Chiefs continued to build the bottom of the roster by signing three more players who were backups at previous NFL stops: defensive end Marcus Dixon, tight end Kevin Brock and wide receiver Mardy Gilyard.

Chiefs Notes: Another Street Free Agent Added from BobGretz.com

In his weekly Monday Morning QB post for SI.com, Peter King threw out this bon mot:

"Speaking of stars available in free agency, one scout told me the other day: "I am scared to death of (Kansas City wide out) Dwayne Bowe. Like him a lot, but not sure what we'd be buying if we signed him. Too much baggage'."

Last time I looked, Bowe had not picked up any new baggage in some time. He's kept his personality under control and he's been a good teammate, as well as being one of the AFC's better receivers. Whether it comes from the Chiefs or some other team, and whether it doesn't come from that scout's team, Bowe is going to score on this contract.

Inside Free Agency: Day 2 from The Mothership

Mike Wallace finished the 2012 season with 64 receptions, totaling 836 yards (13.1 avg) and eight TDs for the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, as reported in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette below, those appear to be his last stats, before leaving the Steel City, citing both sides likely to "part ways."

"It's been the consensus all along, but this is an indication the Steelers are not expected to have a change-of-heart with regards to their No. 1 receiver. Wallace is believed to have turned down a five-year extension worth roughly $50 million before signing his $2.7 million restricted free agent tender last summer. According to beat writer Ed Bouchette, Wallace's holdout "turned off" members of the Steelers' coaching staff and front office."

Ranking Top 10 Players Chiefs May Consider With No.1 Pick from KC Star

Ranking the top 10 available players at positions of need for the Chiefs, who have the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft:

1. Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama. Why not a cornerback with the top overall choice? The Chiefs need one to pair with Brandon Flowers, and Milliner is the best one available.

2. Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah. Fans might be weary of the Chiefs drafting at this position, but Kansas City will need some help here, particularly if Glenn Dorsey departs as a free agent.

3. Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia. The Chiefs have to solve their quarterback problem one way or another.

Kansas City Chiefs Sign Three As They Build Roster Depth from NFL.com

Kansas City was particularly thin at wide receiver last year, and with the prospect of losing wide receiver Dwayne Bowe to free agency, new general manager John Dorsey and coachAndy Reid are searching for players who could compete for roster spots next season.

Gilyard would fit that mold.

Kansas City native Arash Ferdowsi (far left) may have a unique career path and success in the tech industry, but he still shares one thing in common with many in his hometown: he's a huge Kansas City Chiefs fans. And a frustrated one, too, the Kansas City Star noted in its Saturday feature story on Ferdowsi.

Now in San Francisco, Ferdowsi is the co-founder and CTO of Dropbox.

Eight NFL Teams Still Looking For Answers At Quarterback from USA Today

Reid is not going to start the season with Matt Cassel as his quarterback. Cassel, set to earn a base salary of $7.5 million, might not even be on the roster very long. No, Reid is going to make a move - he has to if he wants to compete right away.

A trade for Smith makes a lot of sense. But so would dealing for Seattle Seahawks backup Matt Flynn, who was drafted by the Green Bay Packers when current Chiefs GM John Dorsey was the Packers' director of college scouting.

Best NFL Free Agents By Position from USA Today

Wide receiver - Greg Jennings, who's both a great guy and great player, may draw the most interest. Injuries have hampered him the past two seasons, but he appeared to be back in top form by the time the playoffs rolled around this season. Teams valuing size can court Dwayne Bowe; those who covet deep speed will pursue Mike Wallace; slot stars Wes Welker and Danny Amendola could also be options.

Will Dwayne Bowe's Baggage Scare NFL Teams Away? from NFL.com

The biggest concern here is how Bowe will react to earning big money. He's played his best the last two years while playing for a new contract. He won't get Vincent Jackson-caliber money, but Bowe should do very well, even if he scares some scouts to death.

Dwayne Bowe Scares One NFL Scout To Death from ProFootballTalk

Bowe's stay in Kansas City had its rocky moments, including a four-game PED suspension and some clashes with coaches. There have been issues with drops and weight over the years as well. That said, none of the top wide receivers on the market come without risks. Greg Jennings was hurt last year, Brian Hartline has had one season of high performance and Mike Wallace hasn't quite made a convincing case about his overall package of skills.
