Atticus

Atticus is a very special addition to our family. He is so loving and cuddly. He loves spending time playing with his two fur sisters, and long walks at the dog park. We couldn’t imagine our family without him!

Bella

Bella is a kind, playful puppy that is wonderful with kids and other dogs. She is very loving and enjoys giving and getting lots of attention. She is quick to give anyone kisses who stops to meet her. She plays really hard and can double that hard play with long recovery naps. She is very smart and is quick to learn and eager to please, especially when treats are involved. Bella is very special to us as she is our second dog and has helped all of us remember how wonderful it is to share our home, lives and love with such a loyal, caring friend.

Bernie

Bernie Bernie Bernie… This big guy creates so much happiness, laughter and love in all of his family’s lives day in and day out. Its hard to believe at just 9 weeks he weighed just 28 pounds, now at almost 11 months he weighs over 120 pounds and what makes Bernie Bear special is that he likes to forget about how big he is and fling himself about and be so so so carefree. How could I stay mad after he chewed up my favourite cowboy boots, when I remember all the times he was there and let me hug him and cuddle him when things were going wrong in my life. As a hairstylist I know I picked the right goof ball because he always looks like I wake up every morning and crimp his ears for him. No matter how big he gets he will always be my baby.

Brandy

Our young Brandy has been such a wonderful puppy. Even though we have only had her for a few months the bond that she has formed with our family including my 4 year old boy has been absolutely unbelievable. Brandy is the first puppy that we have had and is our first ARF puppy. She has brought a new energy to our home which is great! She is smart and loves to please. We have done our puppy classes which she excelled at and may have a future in agility. Brandy has been absolutely wonderful and we could not have found a better more suited puppy for our family!. Thank You!

Cato

Cato is a pretty chill and relaxed guy. He lounges all over the house and loves to roll over for belly rubs.

Chaps

This is one little guy who jumped right into our hearts even though he can be a little naughty at times. Why just looking at his picture makes you wonder if he is actually laughing at you. He is one relaxed cat who along with his sister have become best of buds with our 13 year old dog.

Chewie

Chewie is an amazing dog! He is a loving and attentive companion and his enthusiasm it limitless. We live on an acreage 60 miles from Calgary and commute to the city weekdays where I am fortunate enough to bring Chewie with me. He loves people and especially people with pets that he can play with. He is super smart, willing to please and his energy knows no bounds. He has a special way of staring at you that clearly says “You have been a couch potato for long enough. Let’s go out and play!” We love him because he fits us. Plus he is just so darn cute…!

Chloe (Black & Brown)

We were fortunate enough to find our Chloe at ARF in August. Since then she has filled our hearts with joy and our home with laughter. If it wasn’t for her, we wouldn’t have even thought about being a Foster family. She is such a wonderful puppy and so loving that she has happily welcomed two foster puppies to join us in our home. She has taught them how to play nicely and how to share everything including food. She loves going to puppy play every Thursday to see her sister Calli (Sadie) and to play with her best friends Cooper and Bella. We would love to see our Chloe as part of the 2015 Calendar. As cute as she was as a puppy, she is now becoming a beautiful young dog.

Chloe (Black & White)

Chloe (formerly Rain) has been with us for 3 months now, she is turning out to be a beautiful, smart young lady!!!!! She has brought a refreshing energy to our lives. She picks up training so quickly she even has trainers surprised!!! People stop us all the time asking where we got her from!!! We always reply ARF! An amazing rescue foundation!!!

Cricket

Cricket is one of the sweetest and brightest puppies I know. She greets us in the morning with kisses and in return she demands a belly rub. She is always up for a spirited game of fetch or tug, and she loves learning new things – currently we are taking a nosework class, which she excels at. Cricket also has her struggles; she is afraid of a lot of things, and working with her to build her with her self confidence and ability to deal with the world around her has been a really special experience. She constantly challenges us to meet her with real patience, understanding, and empathy – and, for us, that kind of learning is priceless.

Curie

Curie is such a sweet, unique girl. She is very petite. Curie loves to cuddle, loves to nap with her parents, and loves to “assist” mommy in the kitchen. Curie loves to snack on vegetables – especially lettuce and tomatoes. Curie has made our house a home, and loves all the humans in her life. Curie is the princess of our home and knows it!

Eldrick

I adopted Eldrick (ARF name was Tater) in 2009 just after my Dad passed away. Eldrick’s spunky personality brought light when I most needed it. Today, he’s a little chubbier, takes up much more room on the bed (too much room …), but is still the spunky light that gets me through the stormy times. He is “my guy” and though there are times I curse the fur in my mouth, admonish him for giving me a “hug” just before leaving for work (usually when wearing black pants), I love my fur baby to bits. And as much of a “I’m not a Cat guy” as the boyfriend is… He and Eldrick sure cuddle well together ….

Falon

I am proud to introduce my gorgeous ARF dog, Falon. ARF informed me Falon was very shy and fearful. My goal was to help her face her fears and trust me to guide her while making certain her spirit remained intact. I researched everything about dogs and I began with off leash training. Spending time exploring and learning from each other, I am proud to say Falon now walks off leash and has become a leader with her doggie friends. She enjoys challenging her mom with her funny antics and reminding me of her need to make some of her own decisions. Falon enjoys play time with her four cats and has become a vital part of the family. Falon has taught me every dog has potential if given love, patience and understanding. Thank you ARF!!!!

Figaro

Our kitten Figaro is so full of energy! He makes cute little chattering sounds when we play with him with wand toys, and he almost sounds like a chipmunk! He also seems to have springs in his legs and can jump amazingly high! When he is done playing, he does like to settle in for a cuddle.

Finn

We first fostered a puppy with ARF to ensure that our family was ready for the responsibility of a puppy. We ended up babysitting Finn one weekend for another foster family and we loved him right away. He was a sweet and gentle pup that cuddled with us all weekend. He has grown up(1.5 yrs) into a great social dog who loves go to the off leash park. He loves to cuddle, chase a ball, fetch a stick, and do tricks for treats! My husband did not have an opportunity to own a dog as a child and it is very touching to see how much he loves hanging out with Finn. He is such a big part of our family. Thanks ARF for a great dog!

Fletcher

Fletcher has grown into a big boy who still thinks he’s just a little man!! He’s the best mix of crazy and calm out there….we are so grateful he came into our lives! He LOVES the dog park and is a pro at finding the best mud puddles, much to our dismay! He is an extreme social butterfly and can’t seem to get enough of meeting new friends (of the two or four legged variety). His greatest fear so far is the dreaded blow-up exercise ball….that thing has a mind of it’s own! We absolutely love our ARF pup, and encourage anyone out there looking for a great new addition to adopt today!

Georgia

Georgia is the tiniest member of our household but she holds her own and keeps all the boys (her big brother Otis and our 2 golden retrievers) in line. She is a feisty little girl who loves to hunt and is always ready for a belly rub. Georgia is a talkative kitty and her favorite place to be is on anyone’s shoulder.

Haymitch

We are brothers and we love each other so much. We do everything together.

Jax

Jax (formerly Boots), is a special handsome little guy and has been since the day he came home! He is always up for playing and not to mention he gets along great with our other 2 dogs. He has his own personality which we cannot get enough of. His favorite things to do is play in his cat tree and cuddle up with mom and dad, and even steals the dog beds just so he can cuddle them too! He is always the first one to greet us with his meows when we come home. Love this little guy to pieces and we are so glad we found the perfect kitty

Kahlua

This is Kahlua, we got her from ARF about a year ago. We met her at petsmart on a Saturday and knew we couldn’t go another day without her. She completed our family and we find ourselves finding new trails and paths to walk daily just to share with her. She is a sweet dog with a gentle disposition and fiercely loyal. She has become quite the celebrity amongst our close friends and family. We owe Arf and Kahluas foster family a lot for allowing us to make her a part of our family.

Koda

Koda is such a sweet little boy. We already had two cats from ARF and really weren’t planning on getting another one. When we saw Koda on your Facebook page we knew he was going to be a part of our family. We met him and he turned out to be the perfect match for us. Beyond the fact that he is way too adorable, he also has such a sweet and gentle disposition. But he is also fearless. He chases his two older brothers all over the house. Koda loves cuddles and has the purr volume similar to a Harley Davidson. He gets into so many funny positions and situations around the house. The most adorable was when we jumped into the big tub of cat food and the lid closed down on him. All that was sticking out was a big fluffy tail.

Lily

Lily’s grey markings, loving personality, intelligence and vocal nature are what make her unique. She’s a very vocal cat and doesn’t hesitate to let you know if she’s happy with you or if she’s annoyed. When she gets a squirt of water for being bad she will immediately swear back at you in disdain! She’s also very loving, doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and enjoys cuddling with her people. She greets us at the door when we get home from work or other outings and welcomes us home with a friendly “merp”. Lily loves to beg for human food and is convinced that the protein we eat (especially cheese and chicken) is much better than her kibble! All of these quirks are what makes our Lily special and we wouldn’t trade her for the world!

Livy

I adopted Livy (previously Olivia) from ARF seven years ago this month (her 8th birthday is actually today!:)) She has become my best friend, my confidant, and my calm. She greets me at the door, is there for cuddles as soon as I’m on the couch, and I’m sure we have more conversations than I have with most people in the course of a day (she’s a very talkative girl!;)). Lol. We even go for frequent car rides to and from grandma & grandpa’s house. She is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Thank you ARF for bringing us together and giving me seven years of unconditional love and laughter! Here’s to another seven, and many many more than that!:)

Luna

Luna is a spunky gal who loves attention from everyone! She also makes the cutest little squeaks and grunts while she sleeps, and has a habit of finding the most interesting places (and positions) to curl up in for a snooze.

Mandy

We got Mandy almost 2 months ago and she is just awesome. We were amazed how smart she was when she started tricking us to get treats and turned into a play area escape artist! She just loves people and other dogs and wants to say hi to EVERYONE which means we get to meet lots of people. Everyone loves that it looks like she has a mask and how sweet a personality she has. She keeps us laughing almost every day and now holds a very special place in our lives

Mila

Since welcoming Mila into the family, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve told my mum “I found the right cat”. Playful, affectionate, outgoing, smart, a bit of a trouble-maker, and, well, just plain crazy sometimes (in the best way imaginable!), I have complete certainty that Mila was meant to be my cat. Despite her initial hesitation during our first meeting, she was cradled in my arms, eyes closed and purring away, by the end of it. Since bringing her home, we have continued to bond and I love her to bits. Every day, Mila makes me smile during our morning cuddles and Iaugh at her daily shenanigans. I can’t imagine a day without my “little ducky”, as I like to call her, following me around and brightening up my life!

Miya

Miya has one of the purest hearts. She just has love…for everyone. She greets her fellow canines with a whirly tail and belly up and after a few quick sniffs she’s up and looking for an opportunity to play! Such a gentle player too; no matter their sizes she will play to their level. On leash she is very polite and will follow the leader and is just happy to be on a new adventure with you. As much as I love how perfect my pooch is I can not help but point out her SMILE! Other pet owners will come and make conversation with us just because she has flashed them her pearly whites. Miya has made our family whole by increasing our activity level, connecting us to our community and providing us with unlimited joy.

Mogul

Mogul (previously Buttons) has been a joy since we brought her home. We lost our previous cat to illness unexpectedly at the beginning of January making for a very rough start to the year. Mogul has brought life back into our house, she has an amazing personality, very loving but so playful. She loves checking everything out especially the dishwasher!! She makes us laugh everyday & we are grateful that she found our family.

She is a great family pet & would be a fabulous addition to the ARF calendar.

Nyx

Nyx is the most loving kitten I’ve ever seen! She loves to wake me up in the morning by curling in close to my face and purring her loudest! She not only makes my life better but she has become so close to my older cat Miller! They are together all day long, playing, relaxing, cleaning eachother off then cuddling up and falling asleep together!

Nzo

He is an official male Mutt model who knows a ton of tricks like “whisper” “wave” and “bow”. Best dog ever.

Obie

As I’m sure a lot of people do, on Saturday afternoon I went to an ARF Adoptables showing at Pet Smart “just to look”. As soon as I laid eyes on Obie I knew he was the puppy for our family – I’d never seen a puppy so unique. Obie is energetic, friendly and has brought so much love and joy to our home. He gets a lot of compliments on his ‘tiger stripes’ whenever we go out and has become a regular at the dog park. He’s happiest when the whole family is home and he has lots of people to play with!

We’re grateful to the ARF volunteers who helped raise Obie in his early days and to ARF for all the work they do in rescuing the puppies out there – thank you!

Oliver

Oliver is a beautiful black cat with emerald eyes and a heart of gold. Oliver loves to be with his new furever family. Thank you ARF.

Otis

Otis is a sweet boy who’s always ready for a hug, which is always required the minute we walk in the door. He loves all furry things, especially teddy bears and as been known to hunt them and drag them off to secret hiding places. He also loves to groom people if given the opportunity. Otis loves all of is toys, but his favorite of all are Christmas bows, which provide him with endless hours of entertainment. He spends most of his time wrestling and playing with his little sister Georgia, who he adores.

Peeta

We are brothers and we love each other so much. We do everything together.

Peyton

He has just a goofball personality… he makes me smile every day! He has also brought new life to my 8 1/2 year old dog…they are the best of friends!

Ralph

Ralph is the sweetest and funniest little guy! Whether curled up in a lap or snuggling under the blankets in bed, he is definitely a friendly boy. He’s very curious, and loves watching birds outside, and scaling every surface in the apartment. Ralph’s also clever – he’s learned to use the toilet, and did so in under three weeks. He is the perfect urban kitty! Ralph is really an amazing creature, and I’m so happy to share my life with him. He never fails to put a smile on my face!

Rogue

She’s a beautiful soul – I often wonder how a little kitten is able to just burst with so much love and loyalty, and I actually pause to reflex on that sometimes because she displays it all the time. She’s also hilarious and has quite the character!

She’s just a ball of love and wonder, and she’s just an amazing creature all around – I can’t imagine my life without her and I’m so glad that she could change my life in the same way that I have changed hers!

Ron Weasly

My kitty loves money! He bought versace fur!

Rosa

Rosa has a kind and gentle soul, who loves puppy pals of all ages and sizes, cats, and humans. She is the first to greet newcomers at the dog park! Rosa’s ARF foster parents had nicknamed her wiggles (and the nickname stuck!) because when she’s happy her whole bum wiggles. Rosa loves running, biking, and playing with her younger brother Ryder.

Ruby

Ruby is such a sweet and loyal girl! She always wants to be with us and helps keep us active and outdoors. AND, she loves to play with our cat which we think is pretty great.

Ryder

Ryder is an amazing puppy. He has a fantastic personality and the best facial expressions. Ryder loves playing with his sister Rosa (also an ARF’er) belly rubs and snuggles. He enjoy runs to and from the dog park and playing with all his puppy pals.

Ryker

Ryker is so fun and quirky! He sleeps in my bed every night and has a magic internal clock at 6am. I will never need another alarm clock!

No matter how many engaging toys I buy him, his favourite toys will always be Starbucks green drink stoppers and restaurant straws.

He was such a great friend during a really tough time for me this year- snuggling when I was sad and then doing something crazy to make me laugh.

He is the centre of attention at every gathering- he’ll stay up and play with guests for hours.

Thank you ARF for saving Ryker and letting me become his new mom!

Slash

Slash is a Hand raised suck. He Purrs louder than I’ve ever heard. Happy go lucky, everyone’s best friend! He also plays fetch.

Sox

Sox has brought more joy to our lives than we could have ever expected. She is spunky, energetic and has such a personality! She is constantly amazing us with how smart she is and makes friends with everyone she meets, dog or human! Sox is very independent and has no fear and her curiosity knows no end! That being said, her favorite pastime is just sitting in the yard, taking in her surroundings. While this little girl keeps us on our toes, the love she shows us every time she sees us or the belly rub snuggles we share each evening prove that adopting her was the best decision we’ve ever made! Thanks ARF!!

Symba

Hi! The first thing everyone notices about me is stunning blue eyes, but there’s a lot more to me than that. I’m nine years old now (can you believe it took my mom this long to enter me in the contest?) I’ve helped ARF a lot by fostering other ARF dogs and teaching them the ropes. I still like to play like a puppy and my favourite things to do are swim, fetch, run, nap and hang out under the high chair hoping for snacks.
